60th Anniversary National Day Parade

Some Z-9 in the parade were equiped with 8 ATGM, are they the old HJ-8 or more advanced models? They looked like HJ-8 in appearance to me, but in past photos I remember they only carry 4 ATGM, 2 under each wing.

The pics of those police officers in the crowd, it doesn't look like they even have sidearms, is this normal?

Yes. Up until a few years ago Chinese police rarely carry firearms. Even now, regular uniformed officers are only issue low power pistol or revolvers and have very strict rules for using them. Most of them just don't carry them at all.

Almost all Beijing police has pepperspray as weapon.

When we went there in 2005, I was amazed how all the police I saw had NO weapons at all. This was in sharp contrast to the Philippines, where every policeman had guns and many had assault rifles.
