Chancellor Friedrich Merz has reaffirmed Germany’s belief in Israel’s right “to defend its existence” and reiterated that Iran cannot be allowed to develop a nuclear bomb while calling for both sides to refrain from escalation.

Merz said in a statement that he was informed of the Israeli attack and its objectives in a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this morning.

It was not immediately clear whether that call took place before the attacks, as Germany’s Spiegel news magazine reported.

Merz said that after the phone call, he had convened a meeting of the government’s security cabinet, which had agreed to ramp up protection of Jewish and Israeli facilities in Germany and take all necessary measures to protect German citizens.

He added that Germany was coordinating closely with its partners, including the US, UK and France.
Wow big western countries turned to the defense of Israel much faster than i would have thought considering how israel was the clear aggressor here

We are all pro Iran here. I would never support a state like Israel but the point is that Iran should have spent more money on defense and actually focused on the threat that they were facing. They clearly underestimated the threat. They should have been better prepared to deal with this threat. Otherwise, what's the point of being anti west for 30 years, facing sanctions and ruining your economy? They should have built the bomb years ago instead of giving threats of nuclear attack without actually having the capability.
Iran only uses nuclear weapons as a card for negotiating or surrendering.

I feel at this stage, if Iran could truly build nukes, then they should do it already and stop dilly-dallying around 60% enrichment, NPT, or fatwas. The demands by Israel and the West keeps changing. Then every once in awhile the Israelis and the Americans find some stupid excuse to hurt Iran. Giving up on the nuclear program will never bring peace as Israel and America wants nothing less than the destruction of Iran. Whether today, or somewhere down the road.

Iran is a nation of contradictions. On one hand it has powerful friends like China and Russia, yet it wants to keep its distance from them. On the other hand it wants to continue negotiating with actual enemies like the West and Israel (via intermediaries), and then rant when they get burned. Its like Iran doesn't have a clear foreign policy objective. Iran's conventional forces have continued to fail at creating a deterrence against Israel. Without nukes, the West and Israel will keep violating Iran no matter how many "Operation True Promise" Iran wants to carry out. They won't stop until the Iranian government is destroyed.

Iran has to get its act together. If it can truly build nukes, then do it now and declare that they can nuke Israel and others whenever Iran's is facing an existential threat. Use the nukes to buy time to build a stronger economy and military. Otherwise, forget about the nukes and prepare for a dragged-out capitulation. Threatening Israel everyday when their counter-espionage, military, and economy are in this state is proving to be idiotic.

If Iran fail to retaliate in meaningful ways the very stability of the regime is at risk.

This is not exactly good for China, Iran right now is just a half cuck to the west, if the regime collapse they can turn into full on cocksleeve for the west
Agreed, over 40% of China's oil imports passes through the Straits of Hormuz. If the Iranian regime falls, and a Western puppet is installed, it is likely that this will become a bargaining chip against China's rare earth card.

Are we though? As more information comes out it is becoming readily apparent that this is a decapitation strike at the highest levels. Probably how Indians thought Operation Sindhoor would turn out in their lurid fantasies. It’s not only a very bad look but there is reasonable proof that Iran no longer has effective anti-air…
Alot of the strikes were enabled by saboteurs on the ground, exactly like the Irkutsk attack, etc in Russia.

This is proof that politics and ideology, far from obsolete, are actually more important than ever. Iran has much lower ideological cohesion than Pakistan or even India, and this is the result. Their higher GDP per capita doesn't matter at all.

And Trump says that the US is "not involved" in this.

Trump urges Iran to make nuclear deal with next planned attacks 'even more brutal'

US president Donald Trump has urged Iran to make a deal over its nuclear programme, saying in a post on his Truth Social platform that there was still time for the country to prevent further conflict with Israel:

“I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to “just do it,” but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done.
I told them it would be much worse than anything they know, anticipated, or were told, that the United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the World, BY FAR, and that Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come - And they know how to use it.
Certain Iranian hardliner’s spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse!
There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end.
Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction, JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. God Bless You All!
