The issue is that their military leadership got decapitated because Israel is able to obtain information of their whereabouts through miles planted throughout the government. No matter how capable the military is, it doesn’t really matter. Until the security concern is addressed this sort of thing will keep happening.
What amazes me is Israel's military capability in assassinating the IRGC's military leadership. They die like flies.

It seems unbelievable that Mohammad Bagheri and Hossein Salami are dead. The former was the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces; the latter commanded the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

Amir Ali Hajizadeh also seems unbelievable. He commanded the IRGCASF.

The thing is its not Israel's military capability alone but the covert intelligence and even straight up military help provided by the West. They are literally a colony of the West. If it was just Israel's alone doing this then yes it will be very impressive but its not. Without western help they will not be a threat to even a semi professional force like Hezbollah let alone Iran. Their Nuclear program/weapons and technology is given to them by the west which is why they dominate their neighbors.

With an IQ ranking 4th globally, a long illustrious history of Persian civilization, I would not be surprised if a significant portion of Iranians supported something else other than living under the Ayatollah. Shiite Islam itself is an act of rebellion and statement of independence from outside control.

It is obvious that Israel is getting real time intelligence from top level spy(s). Coupled with an inept and corrupt IRGC, the battlefield result is remarkable but not totally surprising.

I don’t think China has much to fear from a modern prosperous Iran that has its own views to contributing to human civilization. Iran will chart its own course and keep its options open, which is much easier to do now that China has risen.

Though it is hard to see how such an outcome may take place with the main vehicle of change being Israeli bombs. Unfortunately the most likely scenario is more of the same cycle of violence, negotiations, dialogue, deceit, incriminations, and further violence. And Iranians will suffer the most.

Lets say Donald Trump come out tomorrow and says: Yeah that right, I personally supplied Israel with all intel needed especially the specific coordinates of those little Iranian generals. It was the best intelligence in the world by me, Donald J Trump! Khamenei should have known better than to mess with Trump! SAD!

Does that actually change anything? At the end of the day, Iran is fighting for its existence. They can't just go, oh wells we were fighting against Donald Trump personally so its ok we have shitty security and let all our leaders get blown up. Since when does Iran think like this?

These are the names of the 9 senior scientists and experts from the Iranian Nuclear Project who have been eliminated!

Each of them served to advance the Iranian nuclear project and had decades of accumulated experience in the development of nuclear weapons.

Edit:
Notable dead:

Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, General Hossein Salami;

Chief of General Staff, General Gholam Ali Rashid;

Commander of the IRGC Air Force, General Amir Ali Hajizadeh;

Chief of the IRGC Air Defense, General Davoud Shekhiyan;

Commander of the Drone Force, General Taher Pour;

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Rabbani. He died at home with his wife and children;

Nuclear scientists:

- Ahmad Reza Zolfaqar;

- Fereydoun Abbasi;

and
- Mohammad Mahdi;

Chief of Staff to the President of Iran, Mohammad Bagheri.

In total, at least 20 Iranian commanders and high-ranking figures are believed to have been killed.

Edit:
General Gholam Reza Mehrabi — Chief of the Intelligence Directorate of the Iranian General Staff
General Mehdi Rabani — Deputy Chief of the Operations Department

Six generals and two brigadier generals were eliminated by Israel, notably the Army Commander, the Air Force Commander and the Chief of Iranian Intelligence. In addition to these commanders, many of their deputies and advisors were also eliminated, as many attacks were carried out during meetings involving their staffs.

The fate of Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, the head of the Quds Force, is still unknown, with some sources reporting that he was also eliminated, but there is no official confirmation yet.

They are now saying they'll expand the missile strikes with another 2000 missiles. Seeing is believing.

"Urgent | Iranian Army Spokesman: Our next missile launch will be around 2,000 missiles."

"Our missile attacks on Israel will be 20 times more powerful than previous attacks."

"Urgent | Fars News Agency, citing an informed military source: The war will expand in the coming days."

Are there any credible figures on the magazine depths of Iranian missiles capable of reaching Israel or what production capacity for such weapons systems look like?

The Israelis aren't bad at HUMINT, but for real time targeting of HVTs, the Israelis almost certainly relied on cell tower data, rooted smartphones and/or other SIGINT derived resources.

Not to say Mossad hasn't thoroughly penetrated both Iranian civilian and military bureaucracies, but geolocating targets with SIGINT resources is both easier and more reliable than HUMINT approaches.

Something something human shields, they had it coming, etc. if true

The Israeli MoD maintains an office park just south of the Ichilov Hospital. The hospital's underground facilities and the office park's underground facilities are obviously interconnected, but there's no good reason for the Israeli MoD to bunker down in the hospital's underground facilities when they have their own.

Funny how Israelis illegally operate nuclear weapons but no one dares to even talk about it…
