2025 Israel - Iranian conflict

Destruction of Israel is official goal of Iran, so they are well matched. Americans, on the contrary, are not interested in destruction of Iran, they would rather prefer to drag it away from Russia and, to lesser extent, from China.
Americans are very much interested in exactly that.
Apart from Israel parentage(both lobby and american elite concentration on "never again"), it's a very deep 1979-80 trauma towards Iran specifically.

Really? China can just sell it's weapons to Iran like it did to Pakistan. If Iran has J-10Cs and HQ-9s the balance of power would shift significantly towards Iran.
Did Russia and France selling Su-30s and Rafales shift the balance of power to India in 2019?

Iran had its air defenses and missile bases attacked by saboteurs on the ground from a base they built inside Iran itself.

What does J-10Cs and HQ-9s do in this case???

Kim Jong Un was educated in Switzerland. He knows how the west thinks.

They were hoping that he would be some stupid rich spoiled kid but it turns out he is far more cunning and ruthless than I imagined. If they continued having some local guy with no outside exposure, NK might have been already compromised by now.
I actually don't think that matters too much. Kim Jong Il never really negotiated either.

This is a good opportunity to point out that soft power (such as non-STEM education, ideology, morale, propaganda, psyops, etc) matters as much as hard power. They mutually degrade just as they mutually reinforce.

Not sure if strategy belongs in the soft power category but obviously strategic competence also matters a lot, including the ability/flexibility to be opportunistic.

I don't know how exactly China can help at this point, at maximum maybe sanction/embargo Israel. Clearly Israel has it in for Iran they'll not stop for anything trivial
You can't help a country that does not want it. The fact that Israel knows the locations of all missile sites, nuclear facilities, top military & scientific personnel, were able to build and launch drones in the vicinity of Iranian anti-air defences to destroy them, etc. speaks volumes about the competency of Iranian government. They are completely infiltrated from the inside; they better stop yapping on twitter already.

Who would've known that the Houthis are actually the most competent out of all of them.

What I mean is the ability to understand how and why the west thinks. But also by growing up in the west, he knows what sort of living standards they have, how things are done in a fully developed country etc. He is only one person but from top down level it affects how North Korea approaches things. I don't really know the best way to describe it but its basically very different from someone who say has spent all their life only in Iran.

The older CPC leaders are notable for having significant overseas experience.

Then again the Shah was educated in Switzerland and look what happened to him. Ymmv
