How about Mil Mi-26? China afaik have some. I also remember there was a cooperation between China and Russia to design and manufacture the more modern Mi-26 heavy helo

Its still a conventional heli and its huge. The PLAN needs something fast, like a tilt rotor or a compound.

That effort has been downgraded as far as where Russian participation is concerned and appears to have not received serious funding and development effort for years. Not holding my breath. Also its supposed to be a fully new helicopter, that article is very outdated.

Yeah Mi-26 is just huge and not practical for ship use:

The smaller helicopter is a Mi-8, so about the same size as a Z-8 and not exactly small.

I guess these two birds from AVIC would be relevant to 075. Unfortunately they are still around 10 years away.

this won't take 10 years if Changfei is serious about this project.
