The model in the picture is the export ship... its dimensions and features are all the same. I'd be surprised if 075 is that ship, although the fact that it seems to be wrapped in a ribbon with what seems to be a PLAN sticker is a little bit enticing.

The key thing to note is 075 is meant to be far larger than the export LHD, which displaces only slightly over 22k tons. 075 is meant to displace nearly 40k tons.

In other words, nothing new. Its just the old LHD export model in a new picture.

However, the 40k tons "version" of this ship wont be a different version at all but a complete new ship. Which means that china is developing 2 LHD designs.

This leads to several questions: how much time and resources are needed for china to develop a LHD design? is it worth it for china to develop a 22k tons ship that it wont use, and probably no one will buy? Does china really need a 40k tons LHD?

Designing such ships is training in itself. It makes sense to design ships to different specifications just to have the experience.
I would expect a Chinese LHD to have the ability to launch and recover winged unmanned aircraft. Will they use a ski ramp and arresting gear?

Don't think is Trumpeter unless they have a different name in China.

Dang! I guess they do build just a few. (/sarcasm)

We are not talking about kits here...they build and sell completed PLAN warships in scales from 1:200, 1:350 all the way down to 1:1200. And it looks like they have about any of the major combatants you could desire.

Pretty amazing stuff.

Here's a pic of a BUNCH of Type 071s they have all ready to sell to people.

...and in different scales:

Hehehe...I guess they are wanting to get to work building those LHA/LHDs too! LOL!
