PLAN has a new class of warship. They will probably take Type 057 title.
Maybe bridge is so high up to free up space for full-sized hangar?
Also has a concealed cannon housing (76mm?)

This one is new photo. The ones I've seen has the section right in front of the bridge blocked by that blue crane.
So, from what we can observe thus far, this warship is likely a new class of corvette.
Armaments of the warship include:
1. Either 57mm or 76mm gun, housed in LO turret;
2. Some kind of VLS (one 8-cell module maybe?); and
3. HHQ-10.
That large-size helicopter landing pad relative to the size of the warship itself probably means that it can operate not just Z-9, but probably Z-20 as well. Though, until the warship can be seen from the rear, I don't think there will be a helicopter hangar onboard.

I'm wondering about that.
We don't yet know its name, but it seems to be some sort of corvette or light frigate, though we also don't know if it's a one off experimental design.
What I may do, is simply rename this thread to "PLAN corvette/light frigate thread" so we can consolidate 056 news and any news of this new corvette because 056 is no longer a major topic of news anyway and we don't know if we will end up getting news of this new corvette for a long time or not.
Open to other people's thoughts.
