The large ship next to the Type 055 in the water and fitting, is likely to be a new Yuan Wang ship. These ships are designed and made for the support and tracking of China's satellite, ICBM and space programs. There are Type 726s next to it.

Yes but the Type 726 are not new builds they are already commissioned units back in the yard

So far no 18th unit identified at JNCX

Jeez if they really do plan on having four 055s per DESFLOT, and if that is true for each of the three fleets two DESFLOTs...

3 fleets x 2 DESFLOTs each x 4 055s each = 24 grand total requirement (minimum?)

Of course it's still very early days in that regard, and whoever is editing it in my just be making it up rather than deriving it from any inside info.

I would also be kinda surprised if DL 3 (6 overall) is launched mid 2019/next year, but we will see.
