Yes this picture was taken in Malta a very nice place

i believe this is the 10th 054A at HP shipyard.

Instead of enlarging the CIWS, wouldn't something like the FL3000N on the Type 056 be better?

huh? the 056 has no CIWS.. what they have is a RWS which is lighter and smaller. The 1130 or even the 730 would probably too big for a corvette like that especially mounted on both port and starboard.
TP was referring to the 054 not the 056.

I believe what he meant was the FN-3000L missile launcher, which, like the RAM missile system on US vessels, is considered a CIWS. Each Type 056 has one eight round launcher on the after deck house as seen below:

I believe Blackstone was wondering whether just adding one of those to the Type 054A FFGs would make more sense than changing the Type 730 CIWS into something larger.

That does indeed appear to be another Type 054A FFG, but we do need to make sure we know what date that pic was taken, so we do not mistake one that has already been built for a new one.
