Now THAT would be a very impressive FFG and a very good follow-on to the Type 054A.

The two CIWS forward, the HQ-10 launcher aft, the VLS and ASMs...more stealthy. Would like to see the full specs on her.

Seems like a step towards answering the FREMM and Type 26 FFGs that are coming.

...and besides, I want to build a 1/350 scale model or two of them! LOL!

Is putting APARs on FFG overkill?

With only 3700t? 054B should be larger than that and with the Integrated mast pic posted by SinoSoldier...

Don't know if that displacement is dry or fully loaded, and as you should know it could varied due different choices of weapon systems and other things.

However, even when Chinese models don't usually convey the details (face it, all those were just proposals of design options), couldn't they design with a bow sections with RCS-reduction designs, like those on the La Fayette class FFG?

Actually, I think it's a great idea. Many of the European frigates already have them. Maybe you don't need to put the latest and greatest if the cost is an issue.

Agreed, they should bump the next frigate model into the 5000t category. Give them more room for equipment such as more ASW suite or for storage to increase endurance between replenishment.

They removed the Top Plate-type radar and have scaffolding all around the main mast and rear mast/stack.

Hopefully we will see a new radar being installed rather than just upgrades to the existing system.

Also in A. Man's previous picture of the next-generation frigate what is that thing in the white circle?

I believe what we have seen now are just different concept Models for proposed 054B, nothing final yet (Design & displacement) as they have still time since the current wave of 054A is going on & IMO the numbers will touch to 24 (054{02} + 054A{22}) to compile 6 FFG flotillas (2 each for ESF/NSF/SSF).

Would it be the same one used on the 052D? Maybe that's why it was worth circling out? An indication of standardization across platforms?

I'd suggest don't read so deep into what the model used to display, more likely it just display a general layout of sort, weapon systems are subject to customer's choices and demands. Of all things the customer might choose to install Mk41 in that place.
