J-20... The New Generation Fighter III

Well, they would still need slots and openings to control the airflow into the nozzle to deflect the thrust. I personally don't think it's going to happen with the J-20, but it's entertaining to speculate :p

That's the beauty of making something later: you can incorporate the latest technology so long your project still have time and room to incorporate it in. F-22 can't anymore because it's a "finished" product, but an unfinished one like J-20 always have a prospective chance of it, although from the looks of things, it's quite unlikely that the CAC will switch over to this new tech(if it's conclusive and stable) unless the PLA asked them to; or it's in their benefits. The reason is cause I doubt they'll abandon WS-15 just like that

I think they could modify the WS-15 as it is with this technology if the PLAAF really wanted them to, so it wouldn't be abandoning the engine as such.
But I doubt they will use this technology either.

This is crazy!

First, thanks to 撅撅 on cjdby for the photos.

Now, look at the canards, they are tilted downwards when the fighter is pulling a tight turn. Some people mentioned it when the video came out earlier today, and that was difficult to tell on the low-res video. However, the photos are clear.

I guess that's the closest we'll get to a top view for now. I can't wait until a high-res pic of an angle from the front with wheels up cuz I'm making me a t-shirt.
