Same like during drills when the soldiers do not look relaxed and professional like western troops, but kinda like if they are doing parade rehearsals, with very ceremonial/formal robotic sudden movements
Sure, and it sounds like NK broadcasting. They must rehrease a lot before going in front of the cameras. Cultural thing - they have to put up the airs of being pro and focused. East Asian thing. Maybe aside from Japan but they have enough problems with internal pressure and being perfect in their work which results in many sucide attempts reported by the media on the other hand. So there are much worse things about military other than machine gun talking.

I wonder how it looks in such a massive organization like PLA but I suppose that they resolve those things behind closed doors and medias aren't too keen to pick up those stories as well.

I'm also kinda sure that in real operations, PLA soldiers and PLAN sailors arent that robotic or shout all the time.
I remember a CCTV report about a PLAN Submarine crew, where a sailor mentioned something about how there is strict noise discipline during operations, including how the sailors are told to close the doors quietly or refrain from talking loudly, or even have special shoes etc.

There's probably a lot more common sense in the PLA. It is just that they dont show us that infront of the camera.

I guess it's the same thing as that old habit that they always show how expensive air-superiority fighters perform unguided rocket attacks during training in PR shots.

Hardly or no western media reports on this event...no surprise.

Anyway, here is some more news for those media China haters to get all twisted about.

invited Duterte to Washington to "discuss the importance of the US-Philippines alliance."

"Right now, both China and the US are extending olive branches to the Philippines. Duterte has played it well by treading a balance between the two powers to maximize Manila's interests. He managed to procure actual benefits from China while maintaining ties with the US," Zhuang said. He cited Duterte's handling of the ties as a good example to other Asian nations.

Media reports in January said China had agreed to cooperate with the Philippines on 30 projects worth $3.7 billion on poverty reduction.

Duterte is also expected to attend a summit in Beijing in mid-May on the One Belt and One Road initiative to increase trade and improve infrastructure ties between China, Asia and beyond.

Filipinos interviewed by the Global Times said the territorial disputes in the South China Sea would not lead to a very serious problem.

Celso, a shop employee in Manila, told the Global Times that he felt that "the problems are being dealt with."

"We have a long history of friendship with China. Many Chinese traveled to the Philippines decades ago and established their businesses, creating jobs for the locals," Celso said.

James Walkers, a Manila taxi driver, said the Philippines had a strong cultural bond with the US.

"But President Duterte thinks the US is too far away, and why should we seek help from a faraway country instead of a close neighbor like China? Despite territorial disputes, no one wants to fight a war. Sharing can make us and our neighbors prosper," he told the Global Times.

while waiting for my lunch I checked in Polish Internet now and a TV station informed this morning:
Prezydent Filipin gotowy na wspólne manewry z Chinami

(several ads played before the vid :) from aboard the ship),

and I think there's nothing in Czech mainstream available (but the SCS isn't an imminent problem here LOL considering the Prime Minister is about to dismiss the Finance Minister today), but joking aside ... well-known English sources which have informed so far are just Al-Jazeera and RT according to my google search ...
