I suffer from tinnitus and belief me it is no laughing matter, everytime I see those artillery men fire a howitzer without as much as ear plugs I get angry. If the PLA can’t so much as provide such rudimentary and cheap protection, it is disappointing.

Most ear plugs are fluorescent yellow in colour and easy to spot.

That's most low end types. The easy to get and fairly useless types.

It’s better then nothing, I myself would use ear muffs over ear plugs anytime.

This is what the standard issued earplugs look like apparently. Kinda hard to see from afar under the helmet

they wear it under the helmet

why would they spend tens of thousands $ on frontline soldier equipment and somehow miss ear plugs?

judging by the cost of the soldier kits on those sent to fight in Xinjiang, it’s probably not even normal plugs but overdesigned types that can play music and maybe have Alexa built in

Simple, oversight. Big equipment like vests, helmets, optics, weapons are great PR. You have to get budgets approved with senior officers and politicians who frankly maybe detached and have little knowledge of the military respectively.

Which is the wrong type for combat.
What they would want is noise canceling. Those reduce the effeceffects of conclusive sound.
    What army are you watching?
