Contradicting statements from the Philippines Foreign Affairs department vs Defense department

Defence department runs the game. Foreign affairs is just for show.

Watch their actions, not their mouth. And what are these actions? Opening new bases facing Taiwan and giving them to the US.

Philippines mouth and words are like fart in the wind, see what they do, not what they say

China is not stupid like America. In a hot war, it’s not going to needlessly open too many fronts against too many opponents.

If China is to invade and subjugate any other country as spillover from AR, it will be Japan. The Russians will probably be happy to split the tab and the country afterwards with China. They always wanted themselves a war water pacific naval base after all.

Say what you will of China’s leaders, they are not afraid to think big. The Philippines is a meaningless distraction in comparison.

I think the following assumptions are pretty reliable:

If no one intervenes then China is only interested in taking back Taiwan.

If US intervenes then China will attack intervening US forces, relevant bases, and may take over the Ryukyus.

If Japan intervenes then China will attack intervening Japan forces, relevant bases, and may take over the Ryukyus.

If the Philippines intervenes then China will attack intervening Philippines forces, relevant bases, and may take over SCS islands/shoals claimed by China but occupied by the Philippines.

China is not interested in occupying any part of any of the main islands of Japan or the Philippines or any part of the US.

China had Escalatory Dominance in SCS , Taiwan strait and in 5 years the Second Island chain to counter this the American strategy is to negate the Chinese advantage by having multiple fronts. Will the CCP bite? well the Chinese had been working hard to create the same condition by economics means. Having received Chinese investment the receiving country will protect themselves and will be very receptive in asking Chinese or Russian military aids. This is how Pax Americana was built and their ancestors will be Rolling in their graves seeing their grandchildren/successor undo the institutional establishment they work hard to achieved.

I don't see how China has the ability to invade and occupy Japan, lol. Bomb from the air till their force projection is completely neutralized, sure. But successfully invade & hold, no shot.

A couple decades down the line, not inconceivable, who knows what might happen. But certainly not anytime soon.

Japan can be neutralized with embargo. They can hardly feed themselves let alone a functional war industry.

This is the sort of discussions going around within Philippine so-called "elite" media. Just for added hilarity, I enthusiastically invite you to read the comments from the "sensible" and "very bright" Filipinos and you'll see that it seems that they have far more in common with a certain Asians located in the south in terms of delusional grandeur. The comments are asking/demanding a numerous wish lists of military hardware, ballistic program as if they have the wherewithal, the human capital, and engineering prowess to build such expensive programs. Filipinos I must say are living in some sort of grand delusions that they could even muster up a fight against a behemoth that even the U.S. is desperate to find "allies" to be used as their cannon fodders in their quixotic attempt to slow, stymie, and prevent China's rise as well as its rightful reunion with the wayward province of Taiwan.

And resentment will set in as the American will never fullfilled it's promises so who to blame for their blunders?, I'm afraid we will be targeted for their mistakes.

Then why don't you illuminate to us what difference does these 4 or 5 new bases in the Philippines for the U.S. military will and can make the difference in the potential Taiwan war with China.
So the geography isn't your strong suit.
Allright, here's a link:

There's a map there, with locations of bases. I believe you can find Taiwan on that map.

I lived in the PH for a decade and I know how close Taiwan is to the Philippines. You still have not answered how these bases are going to materially make any differences with American war with China over Taiwan that's my question genius.
