German police have raided Chinese automotive battery manufacturer CATL's partially constructed production base.
Looks like China won't be building battery plants in Germany anymore. This whole investigation looks politically motivated, 250 police officers show up to raid CATL plant just cause some skilled Chinese worker had an expired visa? Germany is filled with millions of unskilled "undocumented migrants". Germany deserves whats coming, every bit of it.

主要就是ADAS(腾势智能驾驶辅助系统)、LCC(智能领航)、LDA(车道偏离辅助)、ELKA(紧急车道保持辅助)、APA(自动泊车辅助)以及ILCA(交互式变道辅助)等多项功能。

腾势X的用户,进店可以享受2次免费保养服务+2万元新车置换补贴+老客户平台切换的积分补偿;

Big Denza update today from their sales chief
- looks like D9 has been really taking market share from ICE luxury JVs. 15% for Toyota Alphard and another 50% from BBA, ouch.
- BYD is improving so much in terms of product, service and customer care. Hard to see them not surpassing legacy brand in a couple of years.
- Many companies in Guangzhou/Shenzhen area are lining up to replace their JV MPV with D9, but have to wait in line with everyone else. The backlog for D9 is really long.
- In half a year, they are in 72 cities with 169 stores. By end of 2023, plan to be in 120+ cities with 300+ stores. Huge investment here. One
- OTA coming next with improvement in ADAS, LCC, LDA and other areas. That's a huge advantage D9 has over legacy JVs.
- N7 is like production version of Denza Inception
- N8 is a modernized version of Denza X.

I found an account on Bilibili that films Chinese domestic passenger vehicles as they cross an intersection (in Hangzhou?). If you want to see what Chinese passenger cars (including new EVs) look like in an everyday scenario, his channel is pretty neat.

Given the chance, smaller local brands should be protected with priority, over brands from some foreign adversaries. The export of the same local brands will also displace the same foreign brands in overseas markets.
Nope, that’s not how market works, if they couldn’t hold the ground just because Tesla lowered price, a quick death is better for everybody

American MSM are still confused and in self-denial. On the one hand they see market statistics and admit the EV transition is happening. On the other hand they cannot admit China is in the pole position and they have to catch up, by citing funny factors such as electric scooters or fuel-cell vehicles or even Toyota hybrids. The fact on the ground is actually clear and simple in numbers: the EV story is about Tesla-n-China; US and EU are playing catch-up from far behind.

Going forward, China is going to move up EV value chains by leveraging ICT, 5G, AI, etc. I can see a model of EVaaS, which would compete against any existing on-demand real-time sharing or rental services. For example, in a few years, when I arrive at the Pudong Airport, I should be able to rent a level-4 EV at pay-as-you-go with an open-ended time window. And I can drop it in the Hong Qiao train terminal before boarding an HSR to a tier-3 city in 1000km radius. All I need is a WeChat like app in my mobile phone.

Now think about what US or EU could do similarly in a 10-year span. It would be highly likely that they could not even finish legislation. Those Silicon Valley high-flyers in autonomous driving are in retreat. 5G with ORAN is not taking off as promised. Rivian and Lucid are in trouble. There is no feasible middle class EV offerings in product roadmaps except a possible Tesla model 2.

This story is worth watching. For the moment, it is hard for me to believe Chinese gov would outright link Tesla Shanghai to Musk's other ventures, as Musk has been on good terms with Chinese gov. I would rather want to know how Tesla plans to digest the existing capacity in 2023. I could see feasibility if Model 3 was lowered another notch or two or Model 2 was introduced.
