The second phase of the big fund invested in a SiC equipment factory

According to the data from the enterprise search, the National Integrated Circuit Industry Investment Fund Phase II Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as: Big Fund Phase II) has invested in Beijing Shuoke Zhongkexin Electronic Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as: Shuoke Zhongkexin), The shareholding ratio is 8%.

It is understood that Shuoke Zhongkexin was established in June 2019. It was formed by the strategic integration of China Electronics 48 Institute and Beijing Zhongkexin ion implanter business. It is a leading company in high-end process equipment for integrated circuits in China. Its main business includes semiconductors. Manufacture of device-specific equipment. The company is headquartered in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone (Tongzhou) Optical-Mechanical-Electrical Integration Industrial Base, with a branch in Changsha.

Shuoke Zhongkexin's products focus on the main application fields of integrated circuits, and also cover the fields of compound semiconductors and material processing and preparation.

At present, Shuoke Zhongkexin has four products: medium beam ion implanter, large beam ion implanter, high energy ion implanter and customized ion implanter, and has built a relatively systematic lineage of integrated circuit ion implanters.

In the field of compound semiconductors, Shuoke Zhongkexin has launched a custom implanter suitable for 4-6 inches based on the medium-beam ion implanter technology for the SiC market. At present, the company has shipped dozens of special injection machines and compound semiconductor injection machines.

According to the data, the ion implanter is the main equipment for the doping process of integrated circuit manufacturing, which plays an important role in the miniaturization and diversification of devices, and its research and development is extremely difficult. At present, the ion implanter market is mainly monopolized by American and Japanese companies. Shuoke Zhongkexin is the first company in China to realize the delivery and acceptance of ion implanters to end customers, and has undertaken the 15th, 11th, and 12th five-year ion implanters. R&D and industrialization projects, realize the batch application of a full range of integrated circuit ion implanters, the industrialization capacity reaches 28nm, and realize batch sales for the third-generation semiconductor ion implanters.

Not sure if this is fake news or Netherlands buckled.

Washington has some leverage over the Netherlands as ASML uses US-made components. Since early October, American officials have threatened that if allies do not comply with the new export-control measures, they could ban sale of foreign equipment that contains even the smallest amount of US technologies to China.

An agreement on the Dutch curbs could come as soon as next month, according to the people, who asked not to be identified given the sensitivity of the discussions

Looks like more FUD "news" from bloomberg, the only official news from the Netherlands comes from Liesje Schreinemacher, that they are not going to follow the same US policies. The US could use an absolute FDPR on ASML but that is dangerous for the US because it will be a violation of the European sovereignty and the Europeans could apply the same policy to Americans companies, something that US politicians will absolutely hate and will be absolutely hilarious.
Either way This is a warning call that China needs to move faster on lithography, accelerate R&D and validation of current tools. If ASML get banned then they should reconsider if is worth to protect ASML patents in China if they are no selling their tools in China. I think ASML EUV patents should not be protected if they are not selling EUV in China. Also domestic dry lithography equipment should have priority in acquisition vs foreign tools.

It's probably not fake news. What Dutch have said is that their restrictions would not look exactly like the American ones. I think most of us were expecting some sort of further restrictions to be placed. The only question is how far they would go and how long they can delay implementing them. Right now, they just had a tongue lashing from us officials. I expect that asml people will be working on behind the scenes to water things down. It's too hard to figure out what further restrictions would look like. But one thing is for sure, smic had to fast track additional orders through in order to stock up for future needs.

Another option would be to ASML to open a Chinese subsidiary to manufacture Chinese exclusive tools using Chinese, Europeans and Japanese parts. Collaborate with UPrecision, RSLaser, CheerTech and others. Manufacturing in China is not new for ASML because they do metrology systems in Beijing.

smallest amount of US technologies to China.

If is the smallest amount then is replaceable. The problem is when is not the smallest amount.
