We have to remember that US relies heavily on interoperability of its allied nations
I couldn't think of any major war after WWI, in which the interoperability is the key to US military success.
China has to field against JMSDF, South Korea, RAN and India
Not necessarily, if you are talking about conflict and combat. The argument for fielding more ship is on the presumption that ships themselves are the best and only counters against enemy ships. This is not the case, with long range missiles (especially the kinds that are great at penetrating enemy air defense), either land based or airborne, ships are not necessarily the best and only counter against enemy ships.
plus other smaller nations like Philippines are also In the US camp

USN can field 6-7 Carriers in the Pacific now because Royal Navy has 2 Carriers for Arctic and Mediterranean

JMSDF has
2 x Izumi
2 x Hyuga
3 x Osumi
8-10 AEGIS/BMD DDG
CV16/17 equipped with J-35 will take care of these, because only the Izumo's are F-35 Capable. And Japan is too close to hide from PLAAF and Strategic Rocket Force.

RAN
2 x LHD
3 x AEGIS
CV16/17 equipped with J-35 will take care of these with help of Strategic missile force, because only the Izumo's are F-35 Capable. Not even mentioning type 003.

South Korea
2 x LHD
+1 Carrier soon
6 x AEGIS/BMD

and maybe we leave India out of it as it cant even handle Pakistan yet

China should aim for

6 x ARG + 6 x CSG

but in reality 8 x ARG and 8 x CSG of which are 6 x CVN with full strength of 48 x J35 each

The need of PLAN ships are for entirely different reasons. This is not the 20th century any more. Today, you don't need ship parity to counter enemy ships. However, it doesn't mean ships are not needed.

It's actually pretty safe to assume that the J-35 will go onboard on the current 2 STOBAR carriers that PLAN has.

Moreoever it really is just a very small and cheap modification to have it be able to take off from a ramp as well.
Exactly! It is such a low hanging fruit, cost is very low, the benefit should be quite apparent. I don't understand why there are so many people here nay-saying against it.

Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark has set off for home after offering diagnosis and treatment to more than 13,000 patients in Indonesia during its seven-day mission, according to the Chinese Navy.
The week-long Mission Harmony-2022 was conducted from Nov 10 to Thursday, during which a total of 37 surgeries have been carried out on the hospital ship, the navy said in a news release on Friday, adding the maritime hospital also witnessed the successful birth of an Indonesian baby, the seventh birth on the Peace Ark since it was commissioned in 2008.
Furthermore, experts from the Peace Ark held online academic seminars with experts from the Indonesian naval hospital and conducted online joint consultation on difficult diseases with experts from multiple countries, the release said.
After the departure ceremony on Friday morning, the Peace Ark also carried out exercises with the hospital ship KRI Semarang of the Indonesian navy in subjects such as joint communication, lighting and flagging, and sailing in formation, the navy added.
Peace Ark is the Chinese military's first hospital ship and has a displacement of more than 10,000 metric tons. In addition to the Indonesia journey, it has engaged in nine overseas missions, sailing about 240,000 nautical miles and serving more than 230,000 people in 43 countries and regions around the world.

Perhaps indicative of present/to-be-achieved status of PLAN's sea-based ABM capability?

No.

This is just a new optical turret for tracking stuff in the upper atmosphere and low orbit. It may or may not be related to naval ABM capability, but and is very non-specific overall.
You can absolutely have an ABM capability in service without having "new optical turret", or you can have a "new optical turret" yet not have any ABM capability.

Really doesn't mean much at all.

Translation:
Recently, the 055-class destroyer "Anshan", the 052D-class destroyers "Baotou" and "Qiqihar" underwent a full maritime training evaluation and testing at the PLAN's Naval Ship Training Center. The evaluation was conducted continuously around the clock, and all passed the test.

Anshan will soon be taking a small fleet on an excursion.
