Letting her land after so much saber rattling is a dumb decision.

No it is the logical one. China does not want to invite US for a fight. China likes to unify Taiwan without US involvement, if possible. If China attacks while Pelosi is there US *has* to fight. So obvious... some people here are just mad :D

My bet, after Pelosi leaves missiles will fly. Either as it happened in missile crises or real deal.

What is the point of moving equipment while she is already in the air? If China was serious about backing its warning with force, the landing ships would've been loaded and in the water before she even left for Taiwan. Now that it wrote a check it can't cash, Even if they decided to do something after the visit it would be too late. Having social media videos of tanks leisurely driving along Chinese beaches will do nothing to stop her from landing in Taiwan.

China isn't justified to do anything until after Pelosi lands. The very least if anyone expects PRC do militarily engage, wait until after Pelosi arrives. Whether it's a day or a week, the decision and "justification" to perform AR comes after Pelosi actually visits.

I get that shooting her aircraft was something many conservative Americans (who hate Pelosi) was encouraging with some mixed sarcasm, but that was certainly not something truly on the cards. How would it appear if China shot down a US aircraft conducting a precedented visit of Taiwan? Any armed reunification moves will have to come after the excuses and reasons are in the bank. They now are so we can now watch and see how the CCP lives up to its words of "do it and see what happens" from the FMA.

How would it be too late? It doesn’t matter if she lands. Did you expect Taiwan to be invaded and subdued in the couple of hours while she was/is en route?

Only important things are interception and attempted waiving off of the flight… and then the response after/if she lands or is blown up.

Better to try and intercept the flight without firing, and then if she does land, let her get to cover and then initiate Dongfeng time. It’s better she isn’t directly attacked and unharmed, but with reunification as the result.

The framing and timing of it just makes it seems like China was bluffing when they threatened "serious action" for the nth time, now that the US called China's bluff, even if it was genuinely a unrelated exercise, it'll just seem like China was playing it up.
Um... they do THIS EVERYTIME for decades
