90% of the world aren't sanctioning Russia either. I meant international bodies like the IOC, FIFA, etc (not that Americans are any good at international sports). It would be hypocritical for them to suspend Russia but not America for doing the exact same thing.

America can claim what they want but they still have to follow international law. I have no idea how they are going to justify sending an a military jet into a soverign country's airspace without explicit authorisation. The Taiwanese regime has zero recognition at the UN.
International bodies like IOC may be too US dependent, I was thinking along the lines of Venezuela, ME, Iran etc. You would see a massive rallying of support for China amongst the populace in thoses countries, and may accelerate de-dollarisation and a shift towards CIPS and non US institutions

If China shoots the plane down, then it will be the US that has to choose retaliation or not, and their options are limited without military escalation. I mean, what are they gonna do, shoot down a random Chinese civilian plane in retaliation? More economic sanctions with this ongoing recession?

My worry is that Pelosi would take a normal passenger plane, therefore making all the passengers her hostages. Then China would have to retaliate against military targets instead.

Shooting down Pelosi's plane will be the ULTIMATE beautiful sight to behold

After China's public declaration, anyone dumb enough to get onto a plane with Pelosi deserves to share her fate.

of the problem: The Tsai regime.

Today the situation in the Taiwan Straits is serious and complicated, the root cause of which is that the DPP is stirring up trouble by soliciting foreign support.
Every time the DPP authority and foreign politicians undermine the one-China principle, they are gnawing away at the foundation of peace across the Taiwan Straits
Foreign politicians' visit to Taiwan is a hostile act against the 1.4 billion Chinese people, especially the 23 million residents in Taiwan. It is no exaggeration to call them enemies, but the DPP authority treats them as benefactors. This is a complete betrayal of the country as well as the island of Taiwan.

The Chinese military will not use any lethal force to stop Pelosi. They don't even need to react now, they still have lots of time. But their eyes will be firmly set against the Tsai regime.

She needs to get the Solemani treatment no questions asked...

But Pelosi still also must not be allowed to land

If China is going to shoot down Pelosi's plane, they might as well militarily strike and invade Taiwan instead. It's war with the US any way if China shoots it down. Eliminating Taiwan's economic and technology infrastructure effectively eliminating Taiwan as a global player is much more strategically valuable than just shooting down Pelosi's plane. Then you would see if the US will do what they did in Ukraine too afraid to get involved directly themselves. They're going to be thinking about US carriers sinking in the Pacific. Shooting down Pelosi... there will be no second thoughts.

I argue for this too. China doesn't declare war on countries that recognize Taiwan. It just suspends relations. The problem here is the Taiwanese government. They keep pushing boundaries. Of course posturing against the USA is needed since it is the enabler but the problem is Taiwan itself.
