It doesn't matter what I think. Majority of the mainland Chinese think Simu Liu is ugly or below average. Majority of the mainland Chinese believe Marvel is stereotyped Chinese. Marvel can keep doing what they are doing now but Marvel movies are losing stem even before recent bans.
where do you see that the Majority of mainland Chinese think Simu Liu is ugly? Lol please provide evidence. Also if China's censorship board is banning movies because the actors are ugly then they are even more ridiculous than I thought.

Most of Weibo, forums, and chats all say Simu Liu ugly. If you are mainland Chinese, then you should have no problem getting access such information.

When did I say the movie got banned for the actors are ugly. I was saying many mainland Chinese believe and feel Marvel intentionally pick actor and actress that stereotype Chinese. The movie got banned due to Fumanchu as a symbol of yellow peril.

That's just your opinion, plenty of people think Simu Liu as attractive, yes even in China. Awkwafina was chosen as the comedic side kick, see Michael Pena in Ant Man. Now, you can make the point that there is a lack of famous asian actors in the US, and Simu was chosen because he was one of the few with enough popular appeal for it to make sense for the producers. But that's a whole different issue.
My wife thinks Simu Liu is ugly. 'nuff said

Yes I've read Weibo and various online chats, and I'm not going to interpret some online comments as the opinion of China as a whole.

For the banning comment, yes that was my mistaken read. However, I still don't think yellow peril was really a thing in the movie. They in fact addressed it directly in the movie.

You sound just like any other American now ignoring the voices of the mass majority of Chinese opinions but if that doesn't count then you can count the box office money they've made or if banned, you could look at how many people are against the ban of said movie. The fact is, the majority of the people in China and probably most members here do not like that movie and it tends to be similar if not same reasons. It's like the crazy rich asian movie all over again and god I hate that movie.

sorry, but in my opinion these online comments don't represent the majority of Chinese people. It just does not match up with what I'm seeing and hearing here in China when talking about movies. Most common opinion I've heard is that they don't get why it was banned and will just have to download the movie now instead of seeing it in theaters.

Anyhow, at this point I think its just a matter of different opinions. This argument could go on forever.
