I often hear that the semiconductor industry is highly globalized in terms of content source and that it is impossible for any single country to have the entire content of the supply chain domestically? To this I ask, says who?

If China becomes a wealthy developed nation, China would have a larger population (and market) than the rest of the developed world.

So it's certainly possible for China to replicate every existing technology available elsewhere.

Yes America has that right. Then china has the right to subsidize domestic industries to produce high tech goods and the right not to buy US products. the US wants to have it’s cake and eat it too. That was @tokenanalyst point. they want china to buy stuff from them but don’t want to sell what china wants to buy. So I think American politicians are short sighted.
