"Hvis Sverige bestemmer seg for å sende inn en søknad om nato-medlemskap sånn situasjonen er nå, vil det bare øke spenningen og destabilisere denne delen av Europa, sa Anderson."

English translation from Swedish:

"If Sweden decides to send an application for NATO membership as the situation looks now would only increase the tension and destabilise this part of Europe, said Anderson."

So the Swedish PM is only ruling out NATO membership here and now.
Finland will in all likelihood follow suit.
Hopefully a much needed de-escalation but a decision some might see as weakness and submitting to threats.
This is not a de-escalation. No one in Russia (or America) seriously thought Sweden or Finland would join NATO.

This is going to end like the Winter War, with the Ukrainians claiming "victory" just because the K/D, maybe, favors them even if they achieved none of their strategic objectives and lost territory to Russia.

Totally winning
Russia has superior K/D though. They're the ones supposedly shelling civilians. Even if false it means their artillery is firing with no fear of counterbattery fire.

After all, it is the same people that keep killing Kim Jong-Un's staff and relatives in some stupidly gruesome ways just for them to show up alive and well later.

I'm still remember how "The Guardian" put news on how Kim executed his ex-wife or maybe GF.. only later to be proven false as the person still alive. from that point on i always take every single news about NK with grain of salt.

It still pissed me off on how the media can get away with such BS. no apology or clarification whatsoever.

I'm not a Trump supporter but he does say some simple minded truths:

1. Fake news exists all around.

2. We've entered a post-fact era.

Witness it in action today.

I'm surprised they went full mask off for Russia. I was sure they were gonna save this for China but I guess the Russophobia got to them first.

At last, a politician with a rational mind.

Even though got to admit, China might step in at a later date. For example, China is willing to step into the fray, if France and Germany comes along.

Then of course, it is the elephant in the room, which is a NATO puppet and the unknown puppet master. Is Biden pulling the strings? No one knows.

In the article, there is not a single word about China's comment about Europe's own interests, independence and balance.

This is another trick of misinformation by telling the partial truth, taking words out of perspective.

Yeah exactly!

This is what the Chinese communist position and that is what they would want to see. Actually, that is not even communist, it is more Chinese worldview sort of thing, straight out of ancient China.

If China wants to speak to the French and Germans about Ukraine and Russia, it is a clear indication.

It is a clear indication of two things. China only wants to speak to the Europeans about Europe and not the Americans. It also means maybe you Europeans should think more about Europe and not America. This is what China wants. Try the soft sell.

Unless they like what they are seeing on the battlefield and in their own economies in Europe.

Just finish up the war, and start talking about the peace. That is in everyone's interest.

Except for the people trying to play divide and conquer.

:D

Literally the exact same thing just happened to me. I had to refresh the page because of an error, and the next second, it was gone!

Just disappeared, I get:

"Hmm...this page doesn’t exist. Try searching for something else."

Will NATO deny that they posted this Nazi woman on their official account?
It's strange because I never had this happen before.
Never occurred to me what happens when a tweet is deleted.
It disappears, all the comments disappear, even the link on this forum got scrubbed.
So it's like they don't even have to deny it, because it basically never happened!

Maybe China should do this.

Phone Zelensky, and ask him how much are the Americans paying you? Then offer to double it or triple it!

I believe Finland is treaty bound with Russia to not join the NATO or any other military alliance of which Russia is not a part. it would be foolish for Finland to overtly break this treaty because the only time when they would be seriously threatened by Russian attack is when NATO can’t protect her, and she would not want to give russia a legal reason to attack her in addition to any practical ones in such a circumstances.
