This is so dumb. I've got a much better idea.

1) Get the F-22s pilots to "pretend" defect to the PRC.
2) After the defection, China will flaunt their newest toys by sending them to Aviadarts competition in August.
3) Once the F-22s are in Russian air space and loaded for the competition, they can launch decapitation strikes against Kremlin directly, ending the Putin threat once and for all.
4) After they've completed their mission the planes can supercruise back to the base in Alaska.
That's far too sensible.

This is my suggestion.

1. Get the secret communist Trudeau to switch his blackface to yellowface and declare Canadian allegiance to North Korea.
2. America sees the threat in this and immediately nukes Canada out of existence.
3. Xi unhappy with losing his newest ally declares full economic sanctions on America and Europe.
4. Putin suddenly senses the weakness of China and launches a counter attack against the secret PLA submarine army that had been covertly infiltrating Siberia for years. He forgets he had a war in the Ukraine against kindergartens and maternity hospitals so the entire army is withdrawn.
5. Putin is forced to rely on American intelligence information to counter Chinese carrier and submarine deployments in Siberia and around Moscow and both are stuck in a perpetual war.

The older T-80Us, yes. The first batch of the T-80BVM modernized units has been delivered in 2018 and the conversion process is still ongoing. Together with the T-90Ms (and T-72B3 obr 2016), these are the most modern tanks Russia operates, excluding the T-14 which is not yet in serial production (expectation was 2022?).
Serial production of T-14 started this year. It was accepted for mass production after the designers corrected the deficiencies pointed out by the Russian military. Initial orders for it will probably be enough to equip just two divisions. I do not expect T-14 to play a relevant part in this conflict. But they might decide to use some of the existing trial production batch units to see how the design performs in actual combat. Similar to how the Soviets tested SMK tank in Winter War.

The T-90M upgrade package is supposed to be incrementally rolled out to all T-90 tanks but is still in very limited service and I doubt it will play a significant part in this conflict too. The improved rounds it can use are not necessary against opposing armored formations.

The T-80BVM modernized units were supposed to be used in the Arctic and Eastern Pacific area. But I guess this war was a great chance to test all the modernization packages at the same time and give these troops actual combat experience. I personally think they should have upgraded the T-80U tanks instead of the T-80BV. The T-80BV has crappy turret protection. Just slapping some ERA on it is not good enough. Systems upgrade is also kind of subpar and makes this tank worse than T-72B3M package.

Another large Russian supply convoy destroyed in Kharkiv area. Who do the Ukrainian's have there in Kharkiv to be inflicting such consistent damage on the Russians? Chuck Norris himself? The Russians have by now lost a ridiculous amount of equipment between Kharkiv and Sumy, and that's like 20km from the border.
It is their second largest city and basically the largest Russian ethnic population city. So yes Ukraine had a lot of troops stationed there.
With artillery stationed inside the city close to the civilian population, the Russians still holding back from striking artillery and SAMs inside cities, and US intel what did you expect? The Russians will have to change strategy soon enough. Either they strike this artillery inside cities or pull their units outside artillery range thus loosening the encirclement.

the question is can Russia take Kiev and the other largers cities before the Western counter attack kicks in
once the supplies of ATGM + MANPADS are in the thousands Russian Air Force will suffer too much
Ukraine already had thousands. A large portion of the (modern) NATO ATGM and MANPADS stock is in Ukraine. Only modern ATGM not in Ukraine yet is Spike. If you send the Spike missiles into Ukraine NATO will have next to no modern ATGMs in stock anymore.
The Russians have lots of experience facing Cold War era ATGMs in Syria. Everything up to modernized TOW was used in there.
You need training to properly operate an ATGM in the first place so the whole idea is unrealistic.

without air cover those convoys will be at the mercy of the Anti-tank teams which so far are doing a devastating job
the Western counter attack will proceed within next few days which means Russia does not have alot of time
I doubt Russia has a self imposed time limit for this operation.

Four Ukrainian Su-27 (NATO reporting name: Flanker-B) fighter jets, one Mil Mi-8 (NATO reporting name: Hip) helicopter, and a Turkish-made Bayraktar TB-2 drone were shot down in the area around Zhytomir on 5 March, the Russian Defence Ministry has stated.
That's an insane number of Ukrainian planes to be shot down in one day at this stage in the war, not quite sure what to make of this. Zhytomir is about 140km west of Kyiv and apparently getting pounded hard from the air. Other than the air battle RuAF supposedly destroyed an ammo dump holding Javlin and NLAW there.

BM-30 Smerch 300mm MLRS has apparently started pounding Mykolaiv from Kherson.

Not really unexpected. Su-35’s radar and avionics is way superior to that of legacy flankers.

They may still have safe and secure base or place to take off. Otherwise it's just a claim.

regardless.. I'm curious of Major Viktor Dudin scored some more kills from that.

That Russia didn't go in the west of Ukraine with planes more or less, they are covered with NATO sam from Romania and Poland. Probably when they are going in range of these systems they are locked on but not shot on. Still a good way to deter enemy fighters.
