The reasons are fairly clear. China has four times the population of the United States, its economy will soon exceed that of the United States and its military is larger than the US military and growing more technologically capable by the day. It is more integrated into the global economy than the Soviet Union or Russia ever has been, placing itself at the heart of many critical supply chains that the United States and its allies depend upon. It has defined itself in cultural and ideological opposition to the United States and to the idea of democracy, using its new wealth to spread the techniques of authoritarian control to every continent on Earth.

These are not crimes except to go against Western domination. China is not forcing other countries to do anything unlike the US who demands other countries to follow their lead in sanctions against other countries. Again the US got it wrong painted China as the next threat to the world. The reason why they always can't pin China down and get it wrong is because what they fear from China are not crimes if they did it. And what they want is the same things they wanted when they raped the world.

Russia and China already settle most of their trade with yuan/ruble currency swaps. From what I understand Russia already should have Chinese CIPS in use in some banks. Russian SPFS is already being used in banks in China, India, Iran, Armenia, Belarus, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland.

India already has settlements with rupee/ruble swaps and will likely expand those. Do you think they will stop construction of four nuclear power plants the Russians are building, or the Su-30 upgrades, just because the US tells them to?
As for the Europeans they better get in line or get ready for rolling blackouts.

Russia has plenty of iron in Magnitogorsk. They have discovered huge lithium deposits in Murmansk and are making lots of mines.

Not a matter of settlement, they could barter if need be, rather its having the certainty of deals in place with an assured revenue stream on Russia's part which keeps its economy afloat this in turn can then be used to ensure continued supply of every day goods avoiding civil unrest resulting from empty shelves, Venezuela style!

Nepal needs to be wary of this deal. The US Marshall Plan in Europe was a front for deep political and military integration.
No one is ignorant of this. Nepal has used a lot of Chinese money (and thus Chinese influence strengthened) and now Uncle Sam is knocking Nepal's door for "equal rights" for it as well..

In other words, refusal was never a viable option for Nepal..

However the changes on the law passed are significant and I think that they aknowledge China's concerns well. Now its up to Nepal to handle the implementation well (can it resist the CIA though..)

Based. Daily reminder: war is not good for business.
The problem is that many "democratic" Eastern European governments are extremely racist, especially against Russians but also against non-whites. They immediately voted for far right the minute they gained independence from USSR. Just read their contempt for China, just see how Lithuania behaves. Just see them bar Iraqi and Syrian refugees and stopping Indian or African students at the border while letting Ukrainians through.

The EU made a terrible mistake and fell into US' trap when it accepted Eastern European countries to join it
