We're both Asians/Chinese and if this assumption is correct means that the reasons why we ended up living and educated in the west was precisely because of colonization a.k.a. China’s weakness that exported low cost or next to nothing Chinese workers to Western countries and ending up in South East Asain countries like the Philippines as was the case for my ancestors.
