F-22P and 053 series

I'm surprised that the PLA still has 2 053H1G and 1 053H1 in service. Surely they have to be obsolete by now, lacking any air defense at all?
Type 053H1 #553 commissioned in 1985, 36 years in service, probably is being used as a floating classroom for new sailors.

Type 052H1 #558, #559 and #562 are in service for 29 years, 28 years and 27 years respectively. They were part of South China Sea patrol flotilla. They are expeced to be retired in one to three years if the 30 years service mandate is adhered to.

052H1? What do you mean? Actually, if you count #562, there're currently four 053H1G in service. Both #562 and #563 are assigned to Dalian Naval Academy as training ships. I expect #558 and #559 will be decommissioned soon, maybe later this year. #560 and #561 have already been decommissioned for almost two years.

Greetings, friends. I was wondering if anyone could clarify as to whether the 053H3 Frigate Sanming (524) is to be upgraded or sold off?

It seems to be the last of the 053H3 ships that have yet to be MLU'd or flogged off.

Both 521 and 524 are left alone without refitting. They're supposed to be sold, but with the pandemic, it's probably not easy to find a buyer.

Janes reported that Bangladesh had signed a contract to buy a further 2 053H3 in 2019. By all rights this should be 521 and 524, which would indeed explain their lack of upgrade.

However, I've seen no indication from any other news outlet that this is really the case. Hell, whether 521 has already been sold or not is still a matter of some confusion, hence I only mentioned 524 in my original question. Not to mention that the Bangladeshi Navy has not received any additional 053H3s than the 2 it already has.

I'd love to know if these ships have been sighted anywhere in the last 2 years, what their service status is and whether Bangladesh really inked a deal to buy them or not.

My understanding is, it could be true that Bangladesh might be willing to buy those two ships after taking 522 & 523, but with the pandemic, it should be all canceled. Anyway, it seems they are not in PLAN's future plan at all.
