What I said is, to reach the same speed, with deck wind you can have shorter catapult.

I don't believe the length of a shorter catapult makes too much difference, given the overall deck size

The C13 steam catapult is 75m

Does anyone know what version of the Red Banner 9 missile is currently used on the Type 52D and Type 55 destroyers? Is it the HHQ-9A or the HQ-9B? (Basically, is the HQ-9B able to be used on naval ships?)

I heard that's what said the 052D and 055 uses HHQ-9B.

I don't know if the 052C still uses the HHQ-9A, since they would have stopped building them a while ago, and the 052C has to move to the HHQ-9B once the older stocks deplete.

Might be wrong, but we have pictures of the particular missile with "HHQ-9B" written on it --> HaiHongqi-9 or 海红旗-9. Hai or 海 means "Sea" so yeah normally there's a naval version in service on those ships.

Stupid question but why do modern navy doesn't build super battleship like Iowa/Yamato anymore? I read on Quora that arguably they are even better than modern destroyer one-on-one

Quora is a cesspool that has got infected with people who exists on the near end of Dunning Kruger effect. I remember Quora of 2014s and it was a very different place.

Modern Navy doesn't build battleships because Battleships wouldn't survive against even a good frigate of today's with powerful AESAs and precision targeting AShMs. The closest to a battleship today is the US Zumwalt ( shore bombardment using Rocket assisted projectiles) but we all know what's happening to that program.

Does the Chinese Navy have missile projects like SM-3/SM-6?
Don’t really understand the question since SM-3 and SM-6 are very different missiles. The former is dedicated for ballistic missile interception and ASAT. The latter is the latest addition to complement the existing SM-2 series.

SM-3 ve SM-6 çok farklı füzeler olduğu için soruyu gerçekten anlamıyorum. İlki balistik füze önleme ve ASAT'a adanmıştır. İkincisi, mevcut SM-2 serisini tamamlayan en son eklemedir.
What i mean is whether these are chinese equivalent versions?
