Yikes, poppy-spiked noodles with the ability to get you addicted? What the hell? Does it really work that way?

That's harsh punishment for growing poppy. But given China's history with opium, it is understandable.

Hmm. This makes me wonder. Are poppy seed bagels illegal in China then? Would the baking and trading of poppy seed bagels makes you liable to be jailed for 5 years by Chinese law?

I remember they used to put those in hot pot soups. Never knew it was illegal, and I highly doubt it's addictive.

Why is everyone so stirred up by this Australian-UK-US defence pact?

It is too funny.

Four weeks ago the Taliban were taking every province in Afghanistan without a shot being fired.

Three weeks ago Kabul was already surrounded.

Two weeks ago was the deadline for all foreigners to evacuate from Afghanistan.

One week ago the Taliban announced their new government, which roughly coincided with the 9/11 attacks.

This week it is all about fancy toys on parade and military posturing.

That is why the AUKUS ran away from Afghanistan as fast as they could in August 2021. They did not know what else to do?!

Now they are compensating that failure by trying to look tough against a bigger rival.

AUKUS should be thanking China.

AUKSU should thank China for being there, for being someone to lean on, to help them with the butt hurt.

:D

So uncalled for. You are making Chinese people look just as petty as the mouth foam wearing stupid portion of Australia.
I admit that I have been getting quite mad lately, but still having to hear Scomo speak about China, human rights, Xinjiang, we are doing good with regards to the covid, forcing australia to open up when the covid numbers are not down, and basically their stupid pandering to the USA without thinking at all is simply becoming intolerable right now. Hence the day when him and his CIA handlers are wiped out is when things might start to improve in Australia, until then, having to what the stupidity levels rising none stop is simply not good for the brain. If those prophecies of australia getting invaded one day turn out to be true, I would say it is justice long overdue due to everything that the Liberal party made and shitty racism has done to harm australia.

Guys, please consider the economics from the UK point of view.

The UK is unable to build any more Astute submarines because it’s production lines are being taken up with the 4 new deterrent subs. It is still building the last of the Astute's and has a hot production line and we have recently been bidding to set up production lines abroad for frigates.

The previous submarine deal was nearly $100B for France. The UK is a selling nation, we would love to sell Astutes to Australia, especially at the expense of France, this is a killer economic deal for UK PLC.

I am just saying there is more than one angle to look at, this is a $100B we are talking about.

What! Selling out our dearest and nearest neighbour for a measly $100 billion pieces of silver! And just think the French helped out the Scots in their fight against the English all those years ago. Lol

Just read on FT that for China to join CPTPP requires unanimous consent by all of its members. Japan and Australia included.

Unless China has a trump card, I dont see how Australia wouldnt play the spoiler and decline China's application to join the CPTPP

It is so funny!

The United States and its allies are trying to gang up on China (reportedly, we do not know if it is really true).

Now we have China asking nicely the same US allies to let China into their CPTPP.

Regardless of the answer ... there will be consequences ...

 :D
