The cases in the Philippines and Cambodia, no matter low or high, they are stable. But cases in Vietnam are very different. They are not peak yet. A thousand is added to the total new cases per day. e.g. day 1: 3000 new cases, day 2: 4000 new cases and yesterday it was more than 7000 new cases. That's scary!!!
@SteelBird bro Cambodia had done brilliantly in Vaccination and prevention, all of that will come to naught as your neighbor mishandled the pandemic. the question is Can your country close the border? I think it can't, it need to coordinate with Vietnam asap. Hope and pray for your safety bro, right now in my country it had re impose a soft lockdown, they're preparing cause the DELTA variant had been identify here in the metropolis last week, we are expecting a surge for the next 2 weeks. As the case rise from 5,800 (last week) to 6,831 now.

Brother, the fact is that I am worried. The past experience told us that after Thailand and Vietnam surge, Cambodia will follow suit later. We are influenced by these two larger neighbors. What they get now, we will get it later. I must admit that our Healthcare system is far inferior than theirs. If cases surge like that happens here, we'll be in big trouble, maybe a mini India. Gods bless Cambodia!

No joke really. Philippines has to take the Delta variant really very seriously. Just look at Malaysia the case count has kept on going up despite 2 months of lockdown and the high vaccination rate, likely because of the appearance of the Delta variant.

The Chinese government will open its borders when it believes it is safe and secure to do so for its citizens and national interest, nothing more and nothing less. The author still doesn't get it. As for why Pfizer isn't approved yet, let just say it has always been the Caixin, SCMP and MSM claiming China would approve BioNtech soon and BioNtech is the solution for herd immunity which has proven to be false.

Nanjing should have detected the virus earlier to prevent it from spreading to other provinces.

I feel that many Western countries and MSM want to drag China, Hong Kong, NZ and countries that do well in containing the virus down by pushing for opening up and living with the virus.

Sinopharm vaccine highly efficient against Delta variant: Study

Prof. Malavige said that this study is the first of its kind to be published in the world and experts looked at every possible angle of the immune system from the Sinopharm jab.

The vaccine was also compared to the Alpha and Beta variants of the virus as well as the original virus.

"The conclusion of this report is that when it comes to Delta and other variants, the Sinopharm vaccine induces similar levels of antibody responses as people who have naturally been infected, Which is very good," Prof. Malavige said.

"Between the age groups of 20 to 40, 98 per cent developed antibodies while in the age group of over 60, 93 per cent developed antibodies. This is not surprising as older people respond less to vaccines," the Professor added.

She said this data on the Sinopharm did not turn up to the world before, and such real-world data was important to build up vaccine confidence domestically and internationally.

In other news, the life expectancy of blacks in the US dropped to 68 years in 2020 because of COVID-19:

China should ramp up its mRNA vaccines which are proven to be most effective across a wider spectrum of the variants. Traditional vaccines are effective on the original form of variant, but needs to be updated to deal with newer variants.
7/23/2020 without vaccine US covid cases: 70006.
7/23/2021 with vaccine US covid cases: 82505.
Conclusion: mRNA vaccines are proven to be most effective across a wider spectrum of the variants. Wow.

@Quickie thanks for the concern and we have bro, we had nearly vaccinated 45% of people living in the greater Metro Manila region, it might not be enough but its encouraging compare to 15% last month. Bro Metro Manila region account for 35% of our GDP, its the main commercial ,political and transportation hub. If we able to control it here then the rest of the region will not be severely affected. Since the Philippine is an archipelagic country its our boon and bane, we can control the movement of goods and people by restricting travel but the hidden cost will be higher food price. The gov't preparation is all on logistic, we know the problem and we need to harness our resources.
