I don't know how India has called itself a superpower. Comparing to Cambodia, a much smaller country though Covid-19 cases and mortality is also much smaller. However, when the crisis come, the government of Cambodia prepare a specialized crematorium for Covid-19 victims. There is some sort of legal process before cremation but relatives are not allowed to get near to the body. Bodies of deceased are cremated at specialized scene and equipment (cremated by electricity, not wood). All expenses covered by government. So there's no problem of sky rocket prices for crematoriums.
To be fair, Indians use wood for religious purposes. Apparently different castes use different varieties of wood.

This more nuanced to explain. India may claim that it is religious tradition to cremate the dead with wood. But I would invite people to check out the Indian communities in Malaysia and Singapore. There are strong Indian communities here. They are able to practice their religion here with a good degree of freedom. Mainly Hindu, Sikh, and Islam. Take Hindu for example. They can build Hindu temples and shrines. They can build temples on 'holy grounds' in Malaysia such as Batu Caves. They can celebrate their own festivals like Diwali, Thaipusam, and Pongal. Even funerals can be conducted according to Hindu traditions.

But, cremation is conducted in regular crematoriums. For the poor Indians, they could cremate at public crematoriums for a minimum fee. They use LPG there, not wood. There is no uproar that I have heard of from the Indian community about having to choose to cremate with wood or not. Hell, we even have Indian Hindu cremations done at private funeral service providers who do cremations for Chinese communities. Those ones are more expensive, and they use more modern methods.

So in my opinion, the cremation process perhaps is not as religiously significant as the funeral. India even has modern crematoriums.

I believe the real reason why we see so many cremations carried out with wood is because of a lack of infrastructure, and funding by the govt. There is not enough modern crematoriums, so they use the good old method: wood and open pyre. Every body that is cremated appears to be at private expense. I doubt there is many if any, public crematoriums.

The government of India could not give a damn about its average citizens. Imagine what one USD 240mil spent on a Rafael jet could buy in terms of hospitals and even crematoriums. Look at the USD 140mil budget for the Central Vista project. Which includes a new Palace for PM Modi. Given more priority than the Covid-19 battle. So I think it all comes down to just one thing: the Indian government just couldn't give a f**k about its citizens. Its head is stuck inside the cloud of India superpowah fantasy.

Chinese pharmaceutical producers have seen a rising trend of inquiries from clients in the US and some European countries that used to go to India for medicine supplies, as the ongoing coronavirus epidemic in India posed production and logistics disruptions.

Several domestic leading suppliers of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) told the Global Times on Tuesday that direct orders from the US and European countries have increased by 10-20 percent since the new wave of COVID-19 outbreaks in India, which forced many factories to halt production.

So begins the silent unravelling of the India's title of: "pharmacy of the world".

The World Health Organization (WHO) and some of its scientists confirmed to the Global Times on Wednesday that the agency is working with researchers in Italy and a reference laboratory to retest the samples of a study that suggested the coronavirus may have been circulating in Italy since autumn 2019, earlier than in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei Province.

Chinese observers said this indicates that international experts have started tracking down the origins of COVID-19 in regions outside China, and the tracing work may move to cover more countries that reported early evidence, including the US.

However, observers stressed that this does not mean that the virus originated in Italy or other countries, as tracing the source is a complicated and difficult job requiring a large amount of global investigations and studies. According to WHO scientists, the agency's international experts group is looking forward to starting the second phase of studies on the coronavirus' origins.

Excellent. Thankfully Italy is cooperative with the WHO's investigative work. Let's see if the US will do the same. If the US would not cooperate with the WHO, that's big red flag for me.

@getready bro Its what the MSM wanted you to believed, that recent incident is related to an anonymous advisory that the US will only accept entry if you're vaccinated either with Pfizer or Moderna. The place where it happen is inside a High end Mall and most of those people lining up are rich people. And it is so funny why advertise that you only have 900 doses and it is a first come first serve sponsor by a Pharma company? so the predicted outcome is chaos and its a good marketing ploy. Vaccination is usually done by appointment schedule by the local gov't. Sorry but anything coming from our local media and especially by Western MSM I always viewed it with a large grain of salt cause what they reported is not reflective of what actually happening here.
When it comes to issues of Vietnam, ask @Lnk111229 , about The Philippines, ask @ansy1968 , finally, if it is about Cambodia, please ask me!

Wang Wenbin speaks. He says that the US is so eager to call for investigation at other country's biolab (he is actually implying China's WIV). But would not allow access to its own 200 biolabs in 25 countries, citing "National Security". He also says that its 'coincidental' that deadly diseases tend to emerge in areas close to these US biolabs, like SARS, Ebola, and Zika. What is the US hiding?

Well In hindsight, China could do some more fact checking on those allegations. But I don't care, this is retaliation for the information war carried out by the US. Its the right thing to do now. The more the US shouts about Wuhan biolab leak, the more China should shout out about Fort Detrick and the other 200 US biolabs.

US not allowing access to its 200 biolabs around the world is a farce. Isn't the US a signatory to the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC)? They like asking IAEA to inspect Iran's nuclear weapons program. So why shouldn't US biolabs be opened for inspection to ensure compliance to BWC? US demands more transparency from China and the WIV. China then gave the world transparency never before given by the US in its entire history. Nobody is yet asking the obvious question: would the US give the WHO access to investigate the suspected Covid-19 cases near the vicinity of Fort Detrick? If the US doesn't, which I'm very sure will happen, then more questions should be raised to the US. China, and more importantly, Russian media should raise those questions as frequently as possible. Even if the US biolabs have nothing to do with Covid-19, I'm sure that whatever it is in those biolabs is gonna shock the world.

The US should remember this proverb well: "Don't tell lies about me, and I won't tell the truth about you!".

@SteelBird among the three countries , Cambodia win hands down, nearly 25% vaccinated , for a third world nation that is very impressive. Our vaccination effort is hampered by lack of vaccine. Pfizer is expensive only 15% of our population wanted it and mostly in the Metro Manila proper where most of the elites reside, that incident is part of a propaganda to embarrass Duterte and a marketing ploy by the Pharma company because you have to pay for those dosages. But among the populace Sinovac is okay because the gov't offered it for free, the masses doesn't discriminate except for AstraZeneca and Indian produce vaccine...lol (due to negative news and what is happening in India)

And also don't trust those survey, most of them were commission in regards to vaccine by Pharma company and favorability ratings by political parties and entities, the result is based on how they frame the question with questionable techniques apply. An example "will you take a Chinese vaccine that will justify the Chinese claim in the Spratly" definitely the answer will be NO. I was once asked (different subject) and I'm flabbergasted and told them if they are really working for rating agency cause the way they ask the question is an insult to my intelligence.

How do you not understand that everyone sees through this cheap trick lol. "Yes, nothing happened here, but we wont let you inside to check. You will just have to take our word for it."

Doesn't matter. No one believes the baseless accusations against China, except bad-faith actors that have pre-disposed bias against China. Americans are playing the Wuhan leak card because they are simpletons.

Using your own logic, how can you not understand that everyone sees through America's cheap tricks. "Yes, something happened there, but we never checked inside Wuhan lab or any concrete evidence of foul play, you just have to take our word for it."

It works both ways.

If US wants to use flimsy circumstantial evidence to access China's sensitive areas, then China can use the same argument to access Fort Detrick or other US bioweapons labs. It works both ways bro.
