Biden is framing the whole situation with China using the only concept that all Americans can easily understand: "Competition" (a zero-sum game deeply ingrained in American psyche). If roles are reversed, China would have publicly invited the U.S. (and Europe) to strive to grow more prosperous together.

Sadly since Biden has already proclaimed this 'competition' publicly and with the U.S. fixation on GDP parity in dollar-terms, the finishing line is clearly drawn and Biden has set up the U.S. to lose on its own terms when he is no longer the President. In a way, this is U.S. baiting China. If China does not respond to this 'competition', it forces U.S. to raise the rhetoric to even more absurd levels to justify further restrictions and still lose this competition that it defined and played all by itself.

I am sure China's political leadership and PBOC are much more concerned about the long-term debt sustainability than whether China will surpass U.S. GDP in dollar-terms in 2028 or 2032. IF geopolitical considerations take highest priority (as in Russia), then China should pursue a looser monetary policy for the next few years in order to maximize the growth to get to the end game earlier and more obvious to all and thus force future U.S. Presidential candidates to soften their stance as nobody wants to go down in history as the President who lost America to China. However,

I do whole-heartedly support PBOC's the more prudent debt-reduction effort. It puts China in a much stronger fiscal position in the next Five-Year period when China reaches peak oil and when all carbon-related projects kick into implementation phases. This also minimized near-term inflationary risks triggered by the U.S. and European recovery plans. The world-wide recovery in the next few years should be sufficient to carry China's economy humming along. This also means a less-than-exciting few years for the more impatient/stat-obsessed readers of this forum.

50 years down the road, historians may still muse about the Lemony Snicket series of unfortunate events befell on the U.S. (9/11, 2008, COVID-19) that allows China to supplant the U.S. at so little cost.

See? I said it that Taiwan is now going for defacto full independence and cutting of all China ties.

"Muh China has its red lines!!", yeah thats not the game that Taiwan is playing guys.

Taiwan will cut ALL China ties. This ban on China Job postings was just a logical next step for Taiwan. By the current trend, by next year mainland Chinese will be fully banned from travelling to Taiwan.

And maybe in 2 years it will be even illegal to say that someone is Chinese in Taiwan.

The game continues... Lets see how China uses its "Economy" to push back as it neglected military investments (laughable military spending to gdp ratio)

The US and Taiwan will keep salami-slicing this issue at such a way that China will end up being humiliated every day by having Taiwan pulling stunts like these regularly. And China will be unable to respond to its Taiwan "province" lol. China, keep neglecting the military and see how it goes ... Maybe in 2 years, Biden and Tsai will be meeting at the White House roasting China and making Pooh the Bear Xi jokes.

Keep neglecting the military.
After all, has any nation suffered a military humilation from western powers in the past because it focused only at economy and having a good life....................

SAD!

I don't see anything except your unwarranted panic. What is happening is not lack of respect but it is fear. China has never been more powerful and respectable as it is today but these actions were not taken before because they're not driven out of respect or lack thereof but fear of China's new powers. All of these moves fail to deter China or alter the power balance but are done out of desperation. Taiwan can never drift away because it is a little island within Chinese artillery range facing an increasingly powerful and determined China. As the government in Taiwan likes to pretend that they are part of the West (although the dog part), they share the same panic as the West and especially the United States so the same principles apply. While the competition between China and the US heats up, they will become increasingly hostile but not to a point that warrants military action against them. And once China leaves the US behind in competition, they will warm up to the new undisputed ruler of the region because that is how all small things survive near big things. Taiwan is but a bird making noise in a cage; it is inconsequential as long as it does not dare lift the door to escape. As Buddha said to Sun Wukong, "No matter how much you try, you cannot leave the palm of my hand." He doesn't panic and start shrieking like a chimp and trying to counter each one of the monkey king's moves. China is the largest country in the world; it cannot bother to waste its resources and movements reacting to and mirroring the desperate flailing of small foes. Only fools panic and make noise back at this struggling caged bird. There is no soft power without hard power; all of China's problems will resolve themselves when China overtakes the US. Your analysis is as SAD as it is in all of your panic posts.

"You asked if I will delete the tweet and apologize. You may have noticed, I have pinned the tweet at the top" Zhao said

Stop panicking dude. Take a chill . You act and think like everyone in Taiwan loves or even approves what the "present" gov't is doing. Their actions are quite frankly screams of desperation rather than them being some sort of strategic savant. The vegetable English lady is doing everything it can go trigget a reaction from the mainland in order for it's masters (Anglo-Saxon nations) to unite and galvanize their populace to further damage China. The red line has always been that if Taiwan at it's current form is brave enough to declare independence then forceful reunification follow suit. Taiwan can invite all the countries it wants to die for the renegade province and their free to die in the thousands.

But if China doesn't do anything or follow through with their long standing threat then you can crow all you want but not until that happens.

And I don't know why you keep writing or insisting that the CPC keeps neglecting it's military theory when you ought to know better than that. What's the use of having all the military hardwares when you don't have a strong economy to sustain it? You want China to make the same mistakes of the Soviet Union?

Zhao is hilarious and my favourite Chinese official on twitter, he's mastered the art of trolling.

He gave the Australians a big L with that Afghanistan cartoon, now it's the Japanese turn.

foreign ships found to be potentially hazardous to marine traffic safety will be required to report themselves before sailing through Chinese waters.
China is increasing pressure on US vassal Japan and other wanna-be US vassals

One potential flash point are the Japanese-administered Senkaku Islands, which China claims and calls the Diaoyu. Japanese fishing ships operating in waters around these islands may face enforcement actions under the revised law.
Wow this might get very big. This is basically saying that the Islands there belong to China and not on Japan. China is going to get its Coast Guard there potentially forever banning any Japanese civilian vessels from going there if they dont admit that the Islands are Chinese Territory

LOL. Biden is coming after Republicans' burgers. The attitude of hate and fear is too ingrained in the American psyche for Biden to solve. Demonizing another country can not solve this.
