By the way, I want to ask if you or anyone else here have read this book: CHINESE COMMUNIST ESPIONAGE An Intelligence Primer PETER MATTIS AND MATTHEW BRAZIL, Naval Institute Press Annapolis, Maryland.

The first passage of the book alone sounds and read like it's taken from a page of a Tom Clancy novel. Anyone knows if possible if the events described here is true? And these American authors book can still be read, analyze, and absorb for one's owns advancement in understanding the murky world of intelligence relating to China.

"For the employees of a certain Chinese government ministry in Beijing, the coldest day of 2011 was not in winter. It was on the morning that all personnel were ordered to view the execution of one of their comrades, who had been exposed as a spy for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and his pregnant wife. The two were shot in the ministry’s interior courtyard, the proceedings shown on closed-circuit television."

"The man’s sentence was only one of a dozen or more lethal warnings to the Chinese bureaucracy between late 2010 and December 2012. The state and the ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP) would not tolerate disloyalty by those entrusted with its secrets. There would be no mercy, even for the unborn child of a traitor. The forces of state security had destroyed CIA networks in China, and woe to anyone who tried to revive them."

There is a series of Foreign Policy articles written by ZACH DORFMAN about CIA agents in China being killed in around that time. I think I read somewhere that one agent was killed in the ministry but not that pregnant wife. I cannot find where is it. Who knows whats the truth. If it is true, he deserved it.

Did spies get executed? Yes most likely. But that pregnant wife part has been cooked up to make the CPC look like Brutes and Savages. Typical Western propaganda.
Reminds me of how often these western analysts say Kim Jong Un executed xyz official and they later turn up alive.

But did you notice that they forced TSMC to set up shop at the same state as where Intel is setting a lot of fabs... Intel will just offer them high salaries (Taiwan salaries are not that big) and hire them all

This a very sinister plan by the US to get Fabs AND the people by offering them a lot of money
According to Morris, the big issue is the work culture in the US.

So unless you can hire away the whole team, and get management to accommodate them, you won't get the same productivity.

And why is that hard? The US is printing trillions of dollars without breaking sweat.

I dont know why Ibtek couldn't just hire the whole team. This is an old but proved method of "legal" industrial theft lol

Sounds like utter bullshit.

Right off the bat, here are some clues as to it's authenticity:
1. How big is the ministry? How big is the court yard?
2. Usually, the trial and confession is far more educational than a round from SKS.
3. Nobody shoots a pregnant wife, that easily crossed into bullshit territory. One need only to see how capital violent criminals are handled to understand that the young and pregnant are given some basic leniencies, no matter how monstrous the crime.

"Chinese Communist Party (CCP) would not tolerate disloyalty by those entrusted with its secrets."
Actually, the crime is espionage and or treason. "loyalty", they make it sound like a gang.

Looks like Biden is abandoning "Bipartisanship" again and using Democrat's slim majority to push through $4T infrastructure bill, much in the same manner as Biden abandoned "Bipartisanship" to push through the COVID stimulus bill. Both these bills has ZERO (0) Republican support.

Why is this important for China?

It shows that the myth of bipartisanship consensus on China issue is on very shaky and unstable grounds. I agree that "Broadly speaking", both Dems and Republicans think China is a potential challenger in economics, tech, and military spheres. Just like "Broadly speaking" most Americans think COVID stimulus and Infrastructure spending is a "Good idea". But the devils is in the details, and that's where Dems and Republicans can NEVER agree on the details. That's why Biden is bypassing the Republicans and abandoning "Bipartisanship" because he knows Republicans will never agree or support whatever Biden does. Republicans only want to obstruct Biden and scaremonger about debt, inflame culture war, and nativists ideology.

For example, Biden can resume the trade war and ban Chinese TikTok, and Republicans won't be satisfied until every Chinese royalty on IP is voided and every Chinese tech is banned from US. Republicans will still call Biden a Beijing puppet for whatever fake reason, it's because their voter base loves that type of rhetoric. Biden will realize that there is no satisfying Republicans so he will move forward with his own reset on his own terms without Republican obstruction or influence.

"China and other countries are closing in fast. We have to develop and dominate the products and technologies of the future," Biden said.
What other countries besides China? There are no other countries. You don't dominate unless you earn it. How can China steal and can't innovate for themselves and then dominate? Biden mentions "other" countries that don't exist that aren't allies of the US. It sounds as racist as it is to just single out China. His plan to counter China has nothing to do with actually countering China. Spending money on education or making the US supply chain independent does nothing to stop China... unless they're thinking like a white supremacist where China is 100% dependent on US consumers buying Chinese products to make money. Biden has to veil it in racism like a war against another race to get Americans to support it. Otherwise it's going to be just another partisan domestic squabble and nothing gets done.

The Democrats are weak because they think they can convince Republicans of going along. The Republicans won't hesitate to go it alone if the positions were reversed. That's what got Obama in trouble. He was in a stronger position than Biden during the first two years but Obama was so arrogant to think he could get Republicans to go along that he didn't pull the trigger before the midterm elections and he lost the majority and the Republicans basically voted down everything Obama wanted for the rest of his Presidency. Beijing is like the Democrats where they think they can convince the West of whatever. The West only wants China as a follower. China doesn't get to initiate anything. It has go through the chain of Western command. If Beijing is never going to surrender to the West, then don't think Beijing will ever get the West to like them.
