According to it, the 2021 total U.S. government budget (Federal + States + Local) are
Police 141.6 billion USD
Fire protection 47.6 billion USD
Prisons 82.8 billion USD
Courts 73.7 billion USD

I'm surprised by the amount the U.S. is spending on fire protection.

Residential buildings in the US are mostly wooden constructs. Higher fire protection budget is justified.

Remember that both China and the USA have consumer retail sales of US$ 5-6 Trillion.

And that there are inland waterways like the Changjiang River.
So 10,000ton ships are sailing all the way up to Chongqing.

Yeah Changjiang is a great asset. It's really a pity the yellow river isn't navigable though

Well, he only expects Chinese economic growth of 2.5% per year.

That is not realistic given China's current level of R&D spending and also its undeveloped interior compared to the coast.

Yet Magnus is arguing for even lower Chinese growth rates.
