It is a big deal for the Indian govt and the Jai Hind crowds. Because to them, India has a rightful claim to all of South Tibet (and sometimes all of Tibet). If China builds a village there, it's creating facts on the ground. With no regards to India's feelings. It is basically China giving the middle finger to India's territorial claims.

India cannot possible hope to out-build China. Hence, the only way for India to assert its claim without any ambiguity is through war. And war with China is a really, really bad idea. So that leaves India with no choice but to b*tch about it to the high heavens.
Meanwhile reports of another skirmish between Indian troops and PLA on LAC,stay tuned as Godi media comes up with some funny things

"Reports said the clash took place three days ago last week when the troops of the People’s Liberation Army attempted to intrude inside Indian territory. The Indian Army troops foiled the intrusion bid and physical clashes ensued, in which soldiers from both sides were reported to be injured."

Indians with their numbers.

This happened in Sikkim, NE India. Its pretty obvious that China is baiting India into a costly war of attrition and engaging them across the LAC from Ladakh to Arunachal. Indians are too stupid realize that China can do it all year due its vastly superior economy and infra.

The resources India could invest in poverty alleviation, health ,education is spent defending a barren land in Himalayas.

I hope better sense prevails & India sheds their arrogance and resolve the border issue.
