It has similarities with F-35, but its much sleeker. Nose remains unchanges, except maybe cockpit has been lifted up a bit.

This yellow concave rise may be new addition either that, or a blemish on scale model.

but AMCA has got INSANE over-the-shoulder & over-the-nose visibility.

Also, I was talking with few peoples on this 2day only.

Internal bay ejection of CCM at high speed and/or Gs, require years flight trials.
So to reduce development time internal bays of AMCA Mark1 is to carry only BVRs & bombs, that won't be launched in high-G. It's only gonna be used for for BVR sniping & stealthy strike missions. Closest A2A engagement would be Astra-IR launched from 40-50 km away.

The Team will introduce CCM sidebays in AMCA Mark2 probably, was there in initial design.

AMCA isn't interesting design wise, but every country has to go through the ropes of mastering existing technologies. From the same token, you could consider the J-10 a Lavi / Gripen clone, but it turned out to be a vital learning experience for the Chinese.

And like the J-10, AMCA seems to have some adjustments / optimizations compared to the F-22 / F-35 it parrots.

In truth, it's bleedingly hard to build a truly original aircraft; what gets your aircraft to be original in design is when you have unique design requirements and are the first to address them. The follow-ons are likely to have the same problem and converge on the same solutions.

AMCA mark 1?!
They have started talking about Mark 1 of an aircraft that doesn't even have a single prototype built?
So what are Mark 1A,Mark 2,Mark 3 characteristics?

And Amca is supposed to be 5.5 gen according to certain Indian Military heads.
If F-35 (which is a flying computer) and F-22 (a throughout stealth fighter) are 5 Gen, Then imagine a 5.5 gen.

I still don't understand how a country that can't build and operationalize a modern combat UAV is supposed to champion 5th gen aviation.

I'm not even trying to troll or deliver jabs here. I'm lost. Truly.

It sounds like they are treating weapons hardware development like it is software development... come to think of it, it is pretty much the same for the Tejas as well... HAL or DRDO or whoever is doing the development is having the classic software development issue of feature creep, if so whoever the project lead is needs to be fired for failing to manage expectations...

By having Mark 1, 1A, 2... etc planned out, they are basically planning out patches or DLCs before even going into Alpha or Beta... they are acting just like a software developer with a feature roadmap, rather than a manufacturer with set specifications refining the product before moving on... it’s no wonder these projects are in development hell... they are promising the client future features to the base platform, which makes perfect sense in software, since they are code and can be updated whenever but in manufacturing, why the hell would the client pay money for inferior inventory that doesn’t exist yet, when the manufacturer is already promising a better product altogether...

To be frank, current AMCA looks a bit like... Stealthy jaguar.
I. e. more of a strike fighter capable of defending itself.
