Since China is KSA's biggest oil buyer and overall trading partner, could it be possible for China to request if they can make their payments for Saudi goods in Yuan instead of USD? I think such a move will serve as a catalyst for other oil exporting nations to switch to Yuan payments and help China make its currency a universal alternative to USD in global trade.

Not that they don't have a point, but they focus on the negatives. What we do is never good enough it seems:

I'd argue anything better than funding wars and foreign overthrows.

Curtailments is a legit issue, but thats why china spent even more money to make sure transmission has been upgraded across China during 2018-2020. To be honest, China has an infinite advantage with all the china bashing. Its like having the entire world check your work for free. I enjoy very much the fact that nobody criticizes the US as much, let them take years to realize thier mistakes (i.e. middle east invasions).

@PhSt ,

If the Saudi agree, be ready for a regime change in Riyadh.

The US has been covertly trying to regime change SA for decades. Do we seriously believe they don't have an airplane on standby ready to blow up the royal palace in riyhad in under 30 minutes if the commander in chief says yes?

A new mafia don had risen, they need to pay another protection fee and this time it's more exorbitant than before such is the life of an American vassal, you live and die with them whether you like it or not, there is no escape clause.

Somehow I have my heavy doubt regarding US trying to do anything in KSA.

Mohammed Salman was nearly topple for his role in flooding the market with cheap oil to destroy the US shale industry. Only the intervention of his father and some bride to Trump ,US senator and congressman save him. The Saudi monarchy is a product of the British from different tribe to control the oil, they know their benefactor and they will think twice not to betrayed them.

i heard that theory too. However, in this case, i dont think US tried to topple MBS. It was rather domestic issue.
The moment KSA goes, USD is history. As much as dumb saudis are, i don't think they would put their eggs in one basket. Russia wont particularly mind giving "protection" if things come down to that, despite all the "differences they had during the last "oil war" if russia gets the chance to bury US forever.
