They can flip flop again after the 20th. Who cares.

The shares of these three companies traded on NYSE are a small percentage of the total shares traded. Those investors wanting to continue to hold the stocks have been selling their holdings in NYSE and swapping them with those in HKSE.

The Trump government has done tremendous and long-lasting damages to the reputation of the US, its market, financial systems and high-tech industry. I don't recall the US has ever lost its calm and cool in such ways. It takes a competitor and rival of China to cause such panic and shoot in its foot. It's rather sad.

I suspect it’s some form of good cop bad cop.

Wallstreet want that Chinese investment yield and flip flopped to signal they being forced.

Is it possible that some people do it on purpose?
Those 3 China's Telcos lost $30B in market value following Trump's order, then $12B more as depository time tumbled when NYSE's decision to frost them. Then price climbed after NYSE cancelled to delist. List, cancelled, delist, cancelled.... That caused the price up, down,up,down... Is it possible someones profit from that?

The trio of companies lost more than $30 billion in market value in the final weeks of 2020 as investors pulled back following Trump’s order, then shed as much as $12 billion more as their American depositary receipts tumbled Monday on the NYSE’s decision to delist them.
Prices climbed Tuesday after the NYSE canceled the delisting, and then softened again after Bloomberg reported that the exchange may proceed after all.
China Mobile’s American depositary receipts slid as much as 4.2% in New York Wednesday morning, while China Telecom slumped 4.1%. China Unicom rose as much as 3.6%.

Even though Bloomberg intelligence analyst suspect there could be outside pressure driving these decisions.
“It’s odd for the NYSE to get this so wrong,” said Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Larry Tabb. “Their marketing and public relations team has historically been one of the best. It’s bad enough to do a 180 on this within a week, but to go 360 degrees on such a major move so quickly means that they either got this terribly wrong, or there was significant outside pressure driving these decisions.”

3 of the worlds largest telcos lost $30 billion in market cap, oh no! Are we sure this is not the same as the daily volatility of those shares? watch them climb back up as liquidity and volume is shifted from new york to chinese bourses.

Unlike many internet warriors, I just put money where my mouth is. I purchased Alibaba stocks. Yes, I am fully aware that there is a nonzero possibility that Jack Ma really disappeared and that China will crack down hard on his business, but I really doubt it. Hence I’m making a financial decision based on it.

That'll be certain. But in the mean time while they are flip-floping in NYSE, some people profit from intentional roller coaster ride.

This is a situation begging for 5G.
You should not 5g everything. I think it is essential to have ones citizenry gainfully employed to maintain social stability. The money saved from not having to pay $250000 wages would only go to management in the shape of performance bonuses anyway.
