This is called megaphone diplomacy; PM Morrison is trying to cater to the public press to make himself seem reasonable when he and his mob, under the blessing of a white supremacist White House heavily persecuted Chinese interests for the past 3 years.

No, the way this is resolved is first Australia needs to offer China something as a show of good faith, for eg rescinding the anti foreign investment laws targeting China and reversing anti china/anti BRI policies, they could also offer an apology for the Chinese journalists who were forcibly ransacked and spied on; they could allow Huawei some choice government contracts- in fact, i think the last one would go a long way as a sign of good faith.
Anything less than the above, and there's shit all to talk about.

Not that i care, i'm cashed up, ready to get myself some aussie stocks when china finally bans australian iron ore.

I think China's side already had enough on those tricks Australia(and the West) pulled on on her domestic issues esp on the subversion attempts in TW, HK, Tibet. Be it training and instigating elements of separatism. Long term doctrine of western values through universities to align the youths with western foreign policies. Those are moves are playing the long game.

China is even further along the line : they no longer accept Australia winding down when China hit her where it hurts, only to resume with the same old nonsense when scenario allows and Australia is a nation that behave as such.

China should hold strictly Australia into a treaty to ensure :
1. No spreading of her whatever ideology/political values through any channels. She can spread it anywhere but China.
2. No funding/training of separatism efforts nor habouring of such dissents. This cover all areas of China esp : HK, Tibet, Taiwan, Xinjiang etc.
3. Do not interfere in what is rightfully China's domestic domain.
4. Reiterate One-China Principal being the basis upon which both side build economic ties on.
5. Admit and curb the propaganda warfare against China.

Should any of the above be breach, then all gloves will be off.

First Australia, then New Zealand, UK, Canada and finally when the time calls for it, the US.

China should not make discuss or negotiate anything at all with Australia.

It is clear that Australia is an enemy that is and always will be anti-China. The Australian population will always support any anti-China actions, no matter how extreme they are.

If China's economy became 50% smaller at the price of 20% of Australia's GDP, the Australian population would be willing to sacrifice that 20%. If Australia put Chinese in concentration camps, the Australian population would support that. If America invaded China and committed genocide, the Australian population would support that.

When faced with such an enemy, there is no point in demanding or negotiating anything. There is simply power: your power and the enemy's power. You simply must weaken the enemy's power. China should thus decouple with and weaken Australia as much as possible, preferably without boasting too much (an unfortunate habit China has).

(Now, there is one danger to consider. It's possible that in retaliation, Australia will tariff Chinese imports at, say, 25%. It's also possible that Canada and/or the UK will get into a fight with China that also leads to 25% tariffs. If you start adding these Five Eyes up - Australia plus Canada plus perhaps the UK, plus of course the United States - this actually ends up being a decent portion of the world economy. So you want to avoid a situation in which all the Five Eyes have tariffs on China.)

China's ambassador to the European Union, Zhang Ming, also says that the blockbuster EU-China Comprehensive Agreement on Investment, called "China-EU bilateral investment treaty (BIT)" in this article, will be signed before the end of this year, breaking any U.S. delusion of ganging up on China with EU's help:

Agree, no need to boast. But we can start by telling our friends not to visit Australia. Many better places in the world to visit.

Yeah, really, Australia could have picked a more dangerous foe to piss off simply because the USA didn't care one bit about Australia. China is simply doing what they do best, use whatever opportunity short of war to break other nations that keep causing them trouble. This just shows how strong China has become, in the past, they didn't have the options they have now and also, there backers are now far weaker then they ever were before.

China should play the West's game on Australia. Any normalization of relations should also include punishment to China's liking for those Australian soldiers for violating human rights. The West always links things that have nothing to to do with them on China. China should start doing the same to them.

Merely empty slogan, according to GT. They will say one thing but do another.

but China should not let up though next on the list should be tourism and education sector, the victorian government in australia has raked up debt up to $350b to kickstart the economy and has said the big part of economic recovery will depend on the return of international students and tourism next year
Why should China help the economic recovery of an enemy nation?

China should discredit all Australian undergraduate degrees earned after 2020.
