The American and most western countries don't understand the Chinese way of thinking, I may sound arrogant, but the way we think focuses on the achievable, it may take time but patience is one of our attributes and hardship to.

There is too much to comment on brother, the topic is too vast!

Just one basic point, that warfare, once the war starts, they tend to expand, and strategies tend to change. That's why Nixon started bombing Cambodia.

Huawei versus the US government war, it was about telecom equipment, and American allies ... but ... it has expanded to arrests, to all countries in the world almost, to cell phones, and to IC manufacturing equipment.

Did Huawei retreat on the cell phones? I have my doubts. Part of the cell phone war is the O/S which still should be present on the Honor phones the Huawei Mobile Services.

Then on another front, the Germans like they said they would, almost finalize the law they will use to ban or allow Huawei into the 5G networks. No opinions have changed in Germany. The secret police and security services and defence apparatus do not want Huawei in Germany. The entire business related people do, and so does Merkel. The latter were in the majority and this new law does not give anyone a veto. Thought you would like to hear of that news. This kind of news the Liberal media soft peddle it. Even that article was like that.

I've always seen HONOR as a distraction for Huawei and its identity. Huawei should move away from being an OEM along the likes of BBK, Xiaomi, Lenovo.

Huawei must realign itself to be primarily a technogy company. It's competitors are Ericsson, Intel, AMD etc.

Huawei must realign itself to be primarily a technogy company. It's competitors are Ericsson, Intel, AMD etc.

The cell phone is extremely important.

That is the remote control, for the TV, for the rice cooker, for the washing machine, for the back massager, and whatever IoT devices that are connected to it.

The vertical integration has with the 5G network, the cloud computing, to the cell phone, to the software on that cell phone, that is one awesome package.

That's is why the US government went after it. There is no company in the world today like Huawei

The Huawei cell phone business is here to stay. It is a too convenient window into all the other business opportunities Huawei is involved in.

I was talking about the Honor Brandname. It is a low cost brand created to compete with BBK and Xiaomi.

Cellphone is important. It can be a great source of revenue and profit. Look at Apple. It's profits are largely driven by iPhone sales. HUAWEI may continue sell premium phones like Samsung and Apple.

But Huawei must concentrate on technology. There is a huge Chinese market for Silicon, OS, Cellular technologies for it to tap.

And with 5G it need a new kind of OS to fully utilize the technology , Here the Harmony OS will play a leading role and it will be ready next year. No wonder the US is scared, the problem as you mentioned it needed a remote control, I think Huawei will let other cellphone manufacture use its OS to achieve scale to challenge android.

I disagree, right now the problem is having a high performance 5G chips, they can design one but who will FABS for them. Also if you had a new OS, you need scale to be successful , one strategy is having a cheaper phone to achieved that.

Huawei must also avoid the troubles faced by Intel by not trying to fab its own high end semiconductors.

Rather, Huawei must invest in dedicated third party semiconductor fabs like SMIC.
Just like Apple investing in TSMC.

They need to kick Apple out of China in retaliation for sanctions on Huawei and comac. They need to send a strong message and then get into CPTPP by excluding the US bullies.
