Reportedly, PLAN discovered alot of USN submarines around Southwest of Taiwan. Between Taiwan and Dongsha island, guarding the strait transits to Pacific ocean.
I think this will be US strongest interfering force. I mean DF26, DF21, DF17 will deter carriers and China antiship missiles will deter surface fleet.

This is the least talk about but USN submarine will be the main force to interfere China and taiwan situation

):
"During the 23 years since it was commissioned, Bi Sheng has launched nearly 100 missiles and more than 10,000 gun rounds, and has completed more than 310 major test tasks."

"As the first equipment test ship specially designed by the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), the Bi Sheng ship (Hull 891) bears the biggest risks among the naval ships. All new types of ship-borne weapons must be tested on it before being officially deployed on combat ships. Shouldering such responsibility, it goes to sea for more than 200 days a year, and every journey is a matter of life and death."

China can easily counter that with latest generation diesel-electric submarines which are much cheaper. I also assume China has some kind of underwater sonar and microphone array close to its coast. Look at the sea in the Taiwan Strait on a map. It's shallow waters in there. Large nuclear submarines will stick out like a sore thumb. China also has much more improved submarine detection capabilities like aircraft with magnetic anomaly detectors, and surface ships with variable depth sonar, those submarines wouldn't last long.
