Hong-Kong Protests

I have one question - what will happen if people from HG will really start emigrating to Australia/GB taking their businesses, money and know-how to those countries? How big will be impact in case of regional economy if it happens? I know it won't be a big blow to a country like PRC but it won't turn entire city into secondary role if all that will remain ther will be contact offices for companies which HQs will be placed aborad?

What do you think guys?

What have Hong Kongers done for the world to make them so special? I haven't heard of anything therefore no impact at all. Like a Hong Kong accountant can't be replaced by an accountant? Besides the propaganda is the people revolting are complaining about having no future because Mainlanders have made everything so expensive in Hong Kong. If they can't afford to live in Hong Kong, that must mean they're not worth anything for someone to miss being without. Businesses are staying. Business is more communist than democratic. Like they would make more money in Australia? Would DJI been as successful based in Australia and not in the only rival to Silicon Valley in the world? The only people one can spin and say is of value would be politicians, media tycoons like Jimmy Lai, and Hong Kong entertainers. Hong Kong politicians will never be politicians in the West because they're foreigners. The San Francisco Examiner was once bought by a rich Asian family and all the journalists left because Asians have their stereotype of political bias and corruption so people like Jimmy Lai will never succeed. And good luck with entertainers who have virtually zero cross-over success in the West. Even Chow Yun Fat who expressed his favor for protestors, doesn't say a word today. Where's he been? The people that will be leaving Hong Kong know they have nothing of worth to take with them.

Hehe is it a coincidence that when US cuts off funding for Hongkong terrorists, the terrorists turn tail and run?

"revolution of our times"
fight for democracy 'until we win or we die'
"SAVE US TRUMP"

Western propaganda has turned them into pussies. Our ancestors knew what it mean to fight to the death.

I guess deep down the Hongkongers knew their cause wasn't just or right.

I reckon let the rioters go to the USA and UK .... and HK govt could pay their flights as well, but only one way ticket and not allowed to return to HK

That's pretty sad if the CCP is unable to tolerate difference of opinions when said alternative opinion is held by people that have no say in China's political future. The CCP holds all the cards when it comes to the country's future. Are they scared their own members will be swayed by alternative ideas? Strange.

If you think that the actions and opinions expressed by various HK politicians over the years should have reassured the CCP that it would be appropriate to bestow them the sort of political autonomy they desired, I'm not sure if you truly believe the CCP should be that stupid or if you think that the actions and opinions expressed by those HK politicians did not represent a potential challenge to the CCP that could not be allowed to become more politically autonomous.

They believed they were entitled to Beijing's trust and entitled to their own vision of the sort of political autonomy they desired, rather than viewing it as something to be earned.

Given that the CCP's allies control the HK government and therefore the education system, as well as most of the print and TV media, I just don't know what to say.

Maybe the CCP is just incompetent.

If it's a question of media spin and brainwashing, then I would agree with you in that respect.

And no, China most certainly does not control HK's education system. If they did, then perhaps the phenomena seen over the years would not have occurred.

There's no couch cure for such delusion. Whoever came up with that idea should be shipped out to a new permanent consular post in Siberia asap.

With so much Covid damage at hand, they are still cooking up ideas to get 100 more Lehman moments. All at the same time.
