Never heard of this Malaysian group. And just look at the face of the guy in black. Does he even has a job?

The picture of the crowd cannot be a recent photo, as Malaysia has been in practical lockdown since the outbreak of the Coronavirus. Malaysia has been under a Movement Control Order (MCO) since March 18th, and any large crowd in public, or even in private are prohibited, so scenes like the photo above would be impossible (also note the lack of face masks).

Anyway, if you were to gauge reactions from Whatsapp or WeChat groups of families and friends (of Chinese Malaysians), I would say an overwhelming (like 95%) of them would be fully against the actions of these Hong Kong rioters. There is also this recurring funny situation, where everyone were cheering everytime there were a Whatsapp video or post telling that the PLA is finally coming to restore order in HK, only for the news to be fake. Bummer.

Thanks for that. I posted and was hoping someone living there would give better insight. You are confirming our Malaysian Chinese community within our Chinese association. (They make up one of the largest group outside of Hong Kong).

It was just the MSM trying to paint a false picture of support for those thugs I guess!

If he was being sarcastic, he would have said China or the CCP was to blame for the US civil unrest "because they're always responsible when bad things happen" or something like that.

If a person makes a sarcastic post about HK protesters being behind something they're clearly not, it's criticising people who say they're behind everything. That's obviously not what he was doing.

when that HK lady claimed being blinded by police and it was like a symbol of unity to HK rioters. Here Reporter Linda Tirado is now permanently blind in her left eye after Minneapolis riot cops were recorded shooting at press members. Hypocrites.

The HK woman was not blinded by the police, IIRC. Some sources say she was hit by a rioter's slingshot metal ball. She even refused to hand over her medical file to the police for further investigation as this would look bad on the rioters. Someone correct me if this is wrong.

There was, however, one Indonesian journalist blinded by a rubber bullet fired by the police.

Recent events have caused me to start questioning my atheism. I almost believe in a god now, because all that's happening is best explained by the theory that there is a god, and that this god loves China. What happened when the novel coronavirus first emerged? Americans gloated at China and condescendingly "advised" it that its "authoritarian" system was making the problem worse. What happened when the virus came to the Shining City on the Hill? It got hammered. Guess democracy doesn't cure all that ails you, right?

The Indispensable Nation was stirring up and egging on rioters and street thugs in Hong Kong, now look what's happening to it. The whole of America is on fire and it's just getting started. How did this start? Because a white racist cop murdered an unarmed and helpless black man in the most degrading and humiliating way imaginable. He strangled him as he was begging for his life, and kept strangling him for minutes after he died, posing him for pictures like he was some trophy animal. It's sickening just to think about and describe. This from a country that was bad-mouthing China because a couple of landlords unceremoniously evicted some African tenants who were living in China illegally. The infinitude of America's hypocrisy is beyond words.

I'm not sure you actually understand the meaning of the word "sarcastic". As I pointed out quite clearly, "sarcastically" accusing the HK protesters of being behind civil unrest in the US would only work if people had previously been accusing them of doing things they didn't do. Which would only make sense if Hu Xijin was a pro-HK protester journalist, which is clearly not the case.

Pointing all this out isn't being "bitter", but I find it amusing that you seem to think that, rather than considering if a "flagship" international pro-China publication is run by someone who might be mentally unstable.



Shame that Facebook and Twitter are blocked in China then, isn't it?

Sarcasms come in different forms.

Of course, Hu could say that the US government should blame the CCP for the unrest. That would be one form of sarcasm since Trump likes to blame China for everything wrong in the US.

Hu could also say that HK rioters have been behind the chaos in the US since the US politicians have been supporting the HK violent protests and condemning the perceived brutality of the HK police. The irony is obviously that the US government is now in the same shoes as the HK police. This would be another form of sarcasm.

Of course, from my own perspective as an Asian American living in the US, suggesting HKers (also Asian faces) are behind the chaos in the US is equally disastrous. The entire eastern Asian community has been blamed and targeted for the COVID-19. Now all East Asians are blamed for the unrest and chaos across the US? This would be disastrous.

When will the Asians living in different countries in Asia understand that western countries don’t care about the differences among different Asians. Who cares if you are Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Taiwanese, Hong Kongers, etc? All they care about is some Asian faces are causing trouble again. And they will target everyone of us...
