Hong-Kong Protests

You got a point here. And I'm talking about Amnesty International here! When the riot was happening in Hong Kong, and the police shot a thug who was rushing towards him. The video clearly showed the police was acting in self-defence. Nevertheless Amnesty International felt it it's their duty to inveistgate. Yet strangely silence on the Minneapolis case.

I used to have respect for Amnesty International, and not surprisingly I don't anymore.

These organizations are playing the Good Cop/Bad Cop routine. They're all working together on the same goal. This is how they control the narrative. They become the "experts" so they get to define it. They get to say what is and more importantly what isn't a human rights violation namely what they do isn't a human rights violation.

These Hong Kongers want the US to send it's military to take Hong Kong away from China. The US is going to need a lot of soldiers to take on China and where are they going to get those soldiers? The very communities where George Floyd comes from and they stay silent? If these Hong Kongers don't understand, then they don't know what human rights are to complain.

They don't hate China - as people here tirelessly say, Hong Kong is part of China.

They're angry at the CCP, because only the CCP can authorise voting reform. Currently it's virtually impossible for ordinary HongKongese to get a government that prioritises higher spending and housing/employment reform, because special interest groups that benefit from the status-quo control the assembly and Chief Executive post. Until the CCP allows ordinary HKese to directly pick the Chief Executive and all the legislators, there won't be any change that makes the lives of ordinary - especially younger - HKese better.

Anyway, this moving towards a politcal discussion, and the mods don't like that. If you want to continue it, feel free to message me.

Then why do they call all Chinese people locust? That's not CCP. Why do they attack people who speak Mandarin? That's not CCP. Are Taiwanese CCP since they speak Mandarin?

It's unbelievable, I could post this on a number of threads as Trump has blame China from covid 19 to trade, from stopping students (a new Chinese exclusion clause) to Hong Kong. But since he reserve most of fire for Hong Kong. I'll post it here.

It is incredible that he should be concentrating in fighting Covid 19 and the State of emergency in Minnesota, but instead he choose this moment to attack China.

I guess his ploy is always try to deflect bad news!

Hong Kong did away Chinese history in the 90s and early 00s. The replacement course is called liberal studies which basically is anti-CCP, anti-China, and anti-Chinese focus. The result is the new generation of Hong Kong youngsters hate China and Chinese for no good reason. They blame China for everything and worship the West.

I don't think you can reason with these youngsters anymore. Even the moderates have lost their way. At least two generations of young people have been brainwashed and hijacked. There is no more middle ground. Anyone who spoke out against violent, vandalism or intimidation would be ostracized by other youngsters.

^those who grew up in Eastern Europe and then went through the fall of the Soviet Union are some of the most anti-communist people around

As long as you can succeed, people will change their minds about you. If it's a fact that HK education is lying about China, then when the truth comes out (and it has to be supported by China's own success) the sweeping sense of betrayal by their original upbringing will be stronger than any kind of brainwashing.

Hendrik the video is in my post above.

There's more

And this is the one most people don't notice. It's the Chinese exclusion clause MK II.

I quote below from Asians around the world:

"US showing its true white racist colors.

Systemic racism is deeply entrenched in the US.

The US government committed brazen racism against Japanese Americans during WWII by sending them to Japanese internment camps. US also wailed on Muslims and people of Middle Eastern appearance recently.

Now the US government is targeting the Chinese.

But China and the Chinese are different. Times have changed.

US is digging its own grave.

Republican senators have unveiled a bill that prohibits Chinese nationals from studying STEM fields at the graduate and postgraduate levels in the U.S.

The bill, known as the Secure Campus Act, comes from Sens. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tennessee), while companion legislation comes from Rep. David Kustoff (R-Tennessee) in the House of Representatives.

Regardless, some have already criticized the legislation and described it as a modern-day “Chinese Exclusion Act.” Signed in 1882, that law halted Chinese immigration and prevented them from becoming U.S. citizens.

“This is just a modern day Chinese Exclusion Act. Republicans had to reach back 100 years to find something so vile and repugnant,” wrote the AAPI Victory Fund, a super PAC committed to mobilizing Asian American and Pacific Islander voters".

China should just walk away from phase 1 of the trade deal in retaliation and force U.S. to come back to the negotiating table. You can see that the Trump administration is extremely hesitant to do anything meaningful economically because of the current state of the U.S. economy. It would also be a direct blow to Trump's re-election campaign.

As I've said before, the Trump administration is the best thing that has happened to China. The U.S. continues to back away from leadership on the global stage, further straining delicate race relations in the U.S., further dividing leftist/conservatives, turning allies against them and has shown inability to coordinate and handle major crisis like COIVD.
