One of the most urgent things to do for Hong Kong is to establish a patriotic education, the young people of Hong Kong learn to hate China at school, especially during liberal studies.

Those protesters would never stop their riots. So nothing to lose. As for supporters, they want Article 23 so this is what they have been requesting. At this moment, the relationship between China and the US have sunk to new low so China doesn't care what the US thinks anymore. No more appeasement.

It is not the relationship between US and China as such (although it is indirectly linked). It is China and Taiwan's that's what in China's calculus. China don't want to spook Taiwan at the moment by going into Hong Kong too heavy handed.

I disagree. While there are supporters of mainland China in Hong Kong, Hong Kong is still a lost cause. The Chinese government has been extremely patient and even gave ground in regards to the extradition bill. In my opinion, I believe force is now increasingly necessary to finally do these two things: 1. Arrest all of the traitors and put them in jail (hopefully the ones in China) 2. Kick out all foreign influence from China to destroy the West's intelligence network in Hong Kong

Here's a real supporters in Hong Kong!

Please don't ever abandon people like her. In fact, these are the true majority despite what the MSM trying to portrait.

Agree, kicked out all foreigners (Like Trump did with Chinese medias by classifying it as government entities).

Remove all post holders on the government payroll, or important idustry that holds foreign citizenship, like the head of RTHK, who is a US citizen, Jimmy Lai, Canadian. (No difference to any other countries standards).

There's no need to label anyone "Traitor". (Although it would be interesting, especially to see how the West get round that, especially most of them still have treasonous law)! Just put anyone away that breaks the law. (The current crop of judges are not doing that. Majority of them are "foreigners", and also the law is subservient to the law in London!)

One of the most urgent things to do for Hong Kong is to establish a patriotic education, the young people of Hong Kong learn to hate China at school, especially during liberal studies.

Definitely the first thing I would tackle, by introducing oath taking for teachers, all flags in classroom (When I was growing up in Hong Kong, in every classroom there was a portrait of the Queen) with swearing ceremony in all classes (similar to the USA). Introduce "safeguarding and radicalism" policy (in place in UK).

Because most of these policies are in place in one firm or another in the West, this should be easier to introduce and counter any criticism from Hong Kong and abroad

Do you think prison cells would be an upgrade for HK youth living conditions?

Lol. Actually no! I kmow you said it jest, as Hong Kong's living space (or lack of) is well known. However, there is a seriousness in what you say.

This is one of the issues that the anti-China elements are using to exploit the Hong Kong's misguided youths. Yes, there's lack of space, as compare to western standards (hell, even to China's standards) and property prices are well out of reach for 80% of the populace. BUT.... And here's the killer.

The youth of today as compare to my generation have got it easy! When I went to visit my sister/cousin (Chinese would know what I mean) their family (two adult and two children) was living in government apartments. They have three bedrooms (bedroom are tiny, the smallest is 6ft by 4ft estimate). Kitchen, (approx 4ft by 3ft. Fridges often in the living area). showers and toilets (4ft by 3ft). And living area approx 12ft by 12ft).

But as I was saying to my sister, this was luxury compared to what we had under the British. We lived in government apartments with one space. No separate rooms. The space was 14ft by 14ft approx. I always remember big enough for two double bunk beds length way on one side of the wall. And two wardrobe space on the other side of the wall. Cooking area outside in the walkway, no showers. Wash and toilet facilities share with everyone on your floor. I always say to my British friends, if they had what we had, there would be a revolution in the UK long time ago.

Yet, through this hardship, we don't riot!

Coming back to your post. I think we should send them to those labour camps in Xinjing the West keeps telling us about.

Very sad to hear what you guys had to go through. I thought since there were less people back then, it wasn't so bad.

Chinese people can tolerate more suffering than anyone else on this planet.

Wondering if Trump will tighten the Huawei ban as a counter measure to Article 23 passing. It was just reported that the TSMC ban only applies to chips designed by Huawei, so it is possible they can still source semiconductors.

Yes, I previously described how they can source all Intel 5G base station chips and Qualcomm or Mediatek SOCs for phones.

Yeh but Huawei can survive like that.
It will buy Huawei some time. For cell phones, they can use Qualcomm for while, beacuse who cares. Keep developing their hisilicon chips until SMIC can build them at 5nm, then ditch Qualcomm again and go back.
