have you try to donate face masks to a hospital? The most likely case is they will reject your donation because they will only accept certain brand and model. If I have a bunch of masks that are Chinese standard, no hospitals will take them, so me wearing my stash isn’t starving healthcare workers of their masks.
Us civilians have to go out to buy groceries and daily necessities

Chinese standard masks are still better than bandanas or scarfs, which is what the CDC recommended as a "mask saving measure".

I go out to buy groceries with no mask and I haven't gotten sick. I take precautions. I have soap and water in my trunk and I wash my hands after visiting anywhere where I touch anything. So is it because I take precautions that don't require a mask or the coronavirus isn't as transmittable as people who wear masks think? Either way... low chance.

How coronavirus spreads twice as far on trains, buses, public transport

Based on a local outbreak case on January 22 during the peak Lunar New Year travel season, the research followed a passenger who boarded a fully booked long-distance bus and sat in the second row from the back.

The passenger, known as “A”, already felt unwell. But China was yet to declare the coronavirus outbreak a national crisis, so the passenger did not wear a mask, nor did the driver or most of the other passengers on the 48-seat bus.

Lead author of the study Hu Shixiong, who works for the Hunan Provincial Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, said security camera footage showed patient “A” did not interact with others throughout the four-hour ride.

Yet, by the time the bus stopped at the next city, the virus had already jumped from “A” to seven other passengers.

These passengers weren’t only sitting relatively close to “patient zero”. Some were six rows – roughly 4.5m – away, and all later tested positive, including one passenger who displayed no symptoms of the disease.

After these passengers left, another group got on the bus about half an hour later.

One passenger sitting in the front row, who was also not wearing a mask, became infected. Mr Hu said this patient was likely to have inhaled the particles breathed out by the infected passengers from the previous group.

“The possible reason is that in a completely enclosed space, the airflow is mainly driven by the hot air generated by the airconditioning. The rise of the hot air can transport the virus-laden droplets to a greater distance,” the scientists noted.

As for patient “A”, after getting off the first bus, they got on a minibus and travelled for another hour, infecting two new passengers.

By the time the study was finished in mid-February, patient “A” had infected at least 13 people.

The scientists said the study proved the importance of washing hands and wearing a mask in a public place despite advice from other health officials that

unless you’re unwell.

“Our advice is to wear a face mask all the way (through the bus ride),” they wrote in the paper, which found that those on-board the bus who did wear a face mask did not become infected.

“When riding on more closed public transport such as subways, cars, planes, etc. you should wear a mask all the time and, at the same time, minimise the contact between your hands and public areas and avoiding touching your face before cleaning.”

Its more likely that you have not yet been exposed to the corona virus, its in smaller pockets of people right now, but that is rapidly evolving, and numbers will begin to increase exponentially. It will be startling and scary, when the disease has run its course, it will dissipate exponentially as well.

There are NO known cases in the county or two surrounding at present, the most effective preventive is to avoid exposure, if wearing a mask makes you happy, by all means help yourself, but do exercise universal precautions, wash in, wash out.

Small Businesses linked to Amazon often store their inventory at Amazon wearhouses. When you order from them Amazon takes these products from storage and transports them.

I know this. But all the stuff stored in Amazon warehouses have complete tracking, plus a maximum delivery time of 5days within Europe if it is in stock. Plus there are no customs checks within Europe.

So if plawolf has a package of face masks going missing and cannot track this.
Ergo, it must be a 3rd party seller shipping directly and not storing items in an Amazon warehouse.

This is kindof off-topic.

The table below would frighten anybody. The US has more than 10,000 case surge in a single day while Italy has not managed to slow the spread yet though they have had the whole country under lockdown. What a world we are living in!

I just checked that Italy has tested 10,000 less people than the day before. So the lockdown has not flattened the curve yet.

We need to pay attention to Guangdong, because it can import cases from Hong Kong and Macau. There has been a flare-up of cases in Hong Kong recently. On Mar. 21, there were 177 existing cases in Hong Kong and Macau, one day later, there were 224, and today, there are 266. During this period, Guangdong imported 7, 6, and 14 cases each day, respectively. I probably will make a chart about the situation in Hong Kong and Macau later.

On Mar. 23, excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, there are 78 new cases and 7 deaths (table 1). 74 cases were imported from overseas. All 7 deaths were in Wuhan, Hubei. There is one new cases in Hubei. There is no new suspected or cumulative suspected cases in Hubei (table 2). There are 3 new domestic cases and no death in the rest of China (table 3).
