Nope ... already changed :)
Thank you! How about the other thread “Type 002 (CV-18)”? Shouldn’t we learn the lesson and respect the official naming and for now simply use “China’s 3rd carrier (2nd indigenous carrier)” as the title? Once we know for certain in the coming years, then we can always change it to “CV-1X Official Name (00X Carrier)”.

This should be the (003 carrier)-Thread: "Type 002 (CV-18) Carrier News & Discussions"

Now I'm confused... as long the Type designation is not confirmed, but this here is confirmed the 002 carrier.

So China's second aircraft carrier can either be called the 002 Aircraft Carrier, or by its pennant number CV17, or its name Shandong.

I have always found it strange to refer to an aircraft carrier by its "Type" as in Type 001A Carrier.

Good riddance to the ambiguous '001A'.
Now its
CV16 Type 001
CV17 Type 002
And onto
CV18, 19(?) Type 003

The best way to name the thread is 'CVxx ShipName' for type 001, 002 since there is only single ship of each type.
And name 003 thread as 'type 003 carrier' until further notice of pennant number, multiple ships of kind.

(Problem with current name: CV denotes a carrier and there is only one 002 carrier, so writing '002' and 'carrier' after mentioning 'CV17' and 'Shandong' is dually redundant)

Screen capture from the commissioning ceremony, again confirming her name to be Shandong.

@Just4Fun, how do you write Hunan in Chinese? Never mind that, what are the Chinese characters for crackpot?

So much for your predictions. Do you ever post anything that's vetted, thought-out, accurate, and correct? Do yourself a favor, stick with political threads and leave military-watching to the rest of us.

Can you spell "manner" in Chinese? That is the problem with young chinese they totally lack manner and social grace Instead they are uppity arrogant and self righteous Shame on you
I don't want to post in this forum but your lack of social grace compel me to postShandong_1.jpeg Shandong_2.jpeg Shandong_2.jpeg
