Was just driving over the new forth road bridge

It’s closer the the port and you can get better photos from the bridge

Unfortunately very heavy rain and mist

Two giant warships sitting there these are the best photos my wife could take from the car while moving

I have been doing this journey for years ever since first blocks became visible

article is fueling talk that

could permanently decommission its only aircraft carrier, ADMIRAL

, since the floating drydock it was being overhauled in sank last year. Have to wonder why they don't buy a commercial dock.

as to what that Twitter user asked
"Have to wonder why they don't buy a commercial dock."
:
the article mentions "a necessity" to get a new floating dock from either South Korea or China,
LOL talking is cheap

now I've read the point of view of defence24.pl (refers to the same Известия article), entertaining, like

Scrap it? There's life still in it. The Chinese re-fit the now Liaoning CV-16 . The Russians if they really intend to stay in the carrier operations they need to repair the ship get her underway and operational..

And what about Project 23000E Shtorm (codename Storm)..did they give up already? or what?

Yes.
Last reports were they were pushing an LHA/LHD type.

Not much of a choice in the matter. The Original yard that built the Liaoning and Kuznetsov is in Mykolaiv Ukraine. That's not under Russian control.
The Sevmash yard is busy with refit of large Russian cruisers.
They never built another faculty large enough to take her PD50 was it. When it went down the Russians lost there single Dry dock large enough to hold the Kuznetsov.
As you know more than I carriers need lots of TLC. But the Russians treated Kuznetsov like a red headed step child.

Thank you so much my friend, and may our children live in a world full of love and the peace of our God! With Gentlemen of your high integrity and caliber here on SDF, well suffice it to say that you are the Blessing of my Life! I can't tell you how much it means to many of us that you and ObiWan have brought so much passion to the QE and POW design, construction, and now to realize the dream of having two state of the art warships to protect your homeland!

I am beyond thrilled that you will operate the F-35B off these beautiful ships, and thankful to have allies who are honorable and stout hearted! Cheers!

The second the Tugs start towing Kuznetsov to China for refit. The Russian navy brass suddenly wonders if they were all named Stark because Lord Vladimir would go Game of Thrones on them. Allowing such a humiliation turning the "Pride of the Russian Navy" in to such a debacle. Putin would order them castrated.
Besides once it was done its back to square one. How to service it again?
