The view from the top of the flight deck ski ramp on Prince of Wales as HMS Queen Elizabeth is manoeuvred into the Rosyth dry dock on the afternoon of 6 Apr 19.
The same dock where the QE was assembled of course and floated from in 2014. The Goliath crane can be seen in the view also.
The QE will be in dry dock for 6 weeks until late May 19 before returning to her home port of Portsmouth.55726423_10155985075611481_6632910779114848256_n.jpg 56425612_10155981983576481_1215909755508228096_n.jpg 56396100_10155985283511481_8539355596833423360_n.jpg56504181_10156456756521917_4465479142623674368_n.jpg

Great photos Obi Wan! What sort of upgrades will she receive, if any? Or since this visit to the builders yard is so short is this just for general upkeep? Thanks!
No major upgrades planned as such, the purpose of the visit is primarily about the hull. This is the first time since she was launched five years ago that she will be 'high and dry', and six weeks isn't really long enough for major surgery anyway. She already has two of her three Phalanx installed, the 30mm guns will follow sometime soon and she has more flying trials and exercises to partake in this year, not least the DT-III F-35B trials later in the year with Lightnings from 617 sqn this time...
