I am afraid this is going to launch some ... heated arguments, but whatever.

Yep, I predicted the same at least a year ago, it really does have a lot to offer China, and China has a lot to offer back to Sukhoi, after the Su-35 purchase, we ought to realize that everything is on the table...

I think Russia is interested in finding a partner after India dropped out. Even the publicity of China potentially interested in a specific Russian fighter could get it to sell like hot cakes. Just look at Su-27/Su-30 and Su-35.

It will probably proliferate, so buying it is a good idea to know it in and out.

The projected cost for it is also quite low, and the last few deals China has received were favorable.

Aside from obvious training advantages, it could plug the hole J-31 was supposed to fit in. There’s also the fact that if Russia doesn’t get a partner on Su-57, it would most likely only build a handful of them. This is not good since stealth F-35 proliferation is already threatening peace and stability in East Europe/Middle East. If Russia is left without a direct counter...

I guess the PLAAF wouldn't mind having an aggressor squadron of Su-57 along with Su-35. They would come in handy when it comes to really pushing elite pilots.

PS: Good point made by Biscuits. If the Su-57 proliferates, then no harm having them.

I'll give you a like because Russia needs to sell some Su-57s, an influx of Chinese cashola, would propel the Su-57 into production, and represent a deal even better than the Su-35 for China to patrol the East China Sea and South China Sea.

China will build the FC-31/FC-35 as a CATOBAR bird, the Su-57 might make a good carrier based Naval aircraft as well, but I'm still leaning toward the FC-35....

Now you know those F-35's are NOT a threat to anybody, they are purely defensive in nature against a rising Chinese threat....

Threat against US global hegemony and bullying. F-35's are so defensive they're in other people's countries while none of them are in the US. Of course, small backwards countries only...

No need to fight, this is not the threat for it anyways. My point is only this: Prior to F-35, Russia had advantage/parity in M.E and E.Europe. With F-35, if Russia has no stealth fighters, that balance changes, encouraging nations to gang up on Russia or do aggressive things they otherwise wouldn’t have done.

Hence, peace and stability are threatened. I do not say whether Russia is a good guy or bad guy, or whether those looking to regime change other countries are good or bad.

If the F-35 is intended to defend against Chinese aggression, then what is it doing in Israel and Europe? If America fears incoming Chinese aggression, the F-35s will serve better defending the territory of the United States.

Or maybe, it should be stationed to protect the many nations Beijing threatens with regime change...

The influx of additional foreign $$ into the 57 program will also allow it to mature properly and become better with each revision or model updates. It will potentially ensure longevity for that model going forward. Depending on the wording of the ToT, it may also give China direct access to the AL-41F. That can only benefit and expedite their LbT research.

Why would China purchase Indian-reject fighter?

Do you understand how big damage to Chinese prestige if China bought Su-57E, I mean the Indians will have a field day online.
