Interesting comparison of CV-17 and Indian INS Vikramaditya

Laid down - Launched - Sea Trials - Commission
CV-17 (55k tons and 70k tons full load): March 2015 - 26 April 2017 - 13 May 2018 - maybe 2019 or 2020
Vikramaditya (40k tons) : 28 Feb 2009 - 12 Aug 2013 - maybe 2019? - maybe 2023?

So CV-17 is roughly 50% bigger than Vikramaditya and Vikra started full 6 years earlier

I'd bet that Chinese 002 would get commissioned before INS Vikra, even probably 2x bigger and started 8-9 years later

Vikramaditya is already in service. And this is not a fair comparison anyway, it would be more apt to compare this with the Liaoning program.
For CV-17, a more proper comparison would be INS Vikrant.

Lastly, have in mind that construction for CV-17 did not start on March 2015, but much earlier.

Why do you even want to bring the Indians into picture? It will only end in flame war. (Oh... btw, Vikramaditya had already been commissioned and is running with a full fleet of MiG29K and CV-17 was laid down on Nov 2013 not March 2015.)

At the moment there are only four countries building aircraft carriers ... USA, China, the UK and India

China will have at least 3 operational carriers by 2025, 2 for the UK and India and 1 for Russia
